I don't think it matters if ADHD or diabetes or anxiety or whatever would go away or become actually good in this or that society, I think approaching it through that framing kind of comes from a weirdly conservative outlook where you just assume these things weren't problems in the past rather than people with these problems dying or being homeless or whatever with no chance of anything else. My dad was just a really lovely salesman because he was the only job he could hold onto since when he had a bad month they didn't have to pay him much. He had four loving kids and would make idiotic impulse purchases. I don't want people to dream of a world where I don't need treatment because societies wishcast themselves into a world where I can't get treatment all the time and the results are bad. I want a world where I can take a pill and feel normal for most of the day and then dissociate from 6 to 10pm and go to sleep

There's all kinds of issues people can have we don't have very good treatment for but the fact that ADHD is treated as tricky because some college students might take a couple pills and play too much video games or whatever when this poo poo is a solved science kind of pisses me off

I did grow up next to power lines, so... maybe? But yeah, rather than debate the utopian living conditions under which I *wouldn't* need any cognitive setting between 'read 300 pages of a book while forgetting to accomplish basic and necessary tasks' and 'completely unable to read more than 5 pages before losing focus and wandering off to fail at some other activity' I'd much rather just have a reliable supply of the drug thats been proven to moderate symptoms and make life much more bearable. Of course, failed parent Joe Biden thinks drugs are bad except when his idiot child is involved. He must be destroyed and the democrats along with him.

Well, the panopticon saw that I looked up early voting locations in my county and even sent that info to a couple other people, so obviously my YouTube ads are nothing but Beto attack ads by the Abbott campaign now. The first, being that Beto wants to raise your taxes but according to this definitely not just us in a fake mustache source, underpaid his own is whatever thats like most attack ads The second one that is literally just a 15 second spot saying "Beto O'Rourke thinks Black Lives Matter! Yuck!" is more annoying both because of the subject matter and because I know it would work on a bunch of people I work with if they weren't already programmed.
