Depends on your deck. Just remember that while you can't play cards to his lane, you can add them or move them. You can also move the Maw to reopen the lane later on. Lastly, his drawback is an Ongoing effect so he will be buffed by Spectrum. The pro play is to drop him along with Armor on turn 3, so he doesn't get killed by Elektra or Skillmonger.

Not sure if I’m missing something (tactically or in terms of key cards) but it just seems finickier than other deck styles and not sure about the synergy of Carnage and Nova in the same deck as I need to use Carnage to destroy Nova, but Nova wants lots of low cost card in other locations while Carnage wants lots of low cost cards in the same location as Nova to eat.

I'm level ~130 and I don't have a single cool deck's worth of cards.

I'm stuck grinding out my grays -> greens -> blues, but all the cool lists I see, I'm missing ~1-2 cards.

also, game's good.

Kind of annoying of the Symbiote event to need me to play a game with specific cards in my deck, when there's no guarantee I can have those cards

Cap and Onslaught are at least Pool 1, and you can fill that out in a week. I think they're trying to encourage people a little to buy the Welcome Pack though, as that gives Cap for free.

I really hope they add a draft mode that can be played by paying gold. Would allow new players try more cards sooner and give a better alternative to refreshing missions with gold.

The pack does seem tempting, and for that amount it doesn't seem like bad value, I just always raise an eyebrow at stuff like that is all.

At least it's all pool 1 tho, you're right

A (tried italicizing but it's not that obvious) Captain America since there is a free version that comes up on Pool 1 anyways.

If you fill out The Raft too early it's usually with junk. There's no point burning a third of your deck racing for a free 6-drop which often as not doesn't gel with your deck when your opponent can then take the lane with two cards. I generally don't bother with The Raft unless I'm playing a deck that can fill it with less investment and/or free up spaces later.

That's fair I'm stalling a bit in pool 1 for credits and using a 1 Cost swarm deck so it doesn't matter to me

Does stalling even make any difference? I thought the matchmaking tries to match similar CL players with each other, so even if you're early pool 2, it's not going to match you with someone who has almost finished pool 2.

Pool 1?

Iron Fist, Nightcrawler
Angela, Forge, Kraven, Multiple Man
Doctor Strange, Hulkbuster
Enchantress, Miles Morales*
Amy Chav, Heimdall

If you're in Pool 2 then you can sub in Vision, Vulture and Cloak if you have them - flex cards are Amy and Enchantress, or Miles if you don't have the Season Pass.

If you're in Pool 1 and you don't have Miles, your best replacement is probably Klaw. Move decks tend to fill the two leftmost locations at the cost of the right, so people often play light in that lane expecting to win it cheaply against Heimdall and also in the leftmost lane expecting to lose it to your biggest moves. Surprising them with a bit of extra power to the right or centre will win a few games.

Go RV! posted:

All* levels of card upgrade are worth the same amount of CL per Credit, so level up whatever cards you think look cool. (*Frame Break is half price)

To level up a card, you need boosters and credits. NEVER BUY FAST UPGRADES FROM THE SHOP, you're going to be hard limited by credits, not boosters. To get boosters, you can either get them from CL/Season rewards, or by playing games with the card in your deck.

You're matched to other players by your Collection Level, so if you feel confident in your deck and want to grind out some ladder levels, you can save up credits to not move further. You have a cap of 5000, hitting it will permanently set back your progress. If you're going to do this, I'd recommend the breakpoints of the end of each pool of cards (CL214 and CL474).

If you want more credits, don't use gold to buy more. Use the gold on mission refreshes, as they'll give you additional season pass progress.

Made it up to CL119/rank 45 and still having fun. I think I’m ready to declare this game officially cool and good.

I can understand why people are a little frustrated with the way cards are unlocked. I feel like I’m a couple key cards short of most of the archetypes I’d like to play. I nabbed Enchantress but I’d really like some of the other disruption cards like Scarlet Witch and Cosmo.

Favorite card so far is probably Elektra. Sniping an unsuspecting Nightcrawler or Ant Man for the win is the best. :3:

I've always kinda been afraid of building my own decks and getting smashed. Based on how quick the games go, how much RNG there is in a single game, and how small the decksizes are... it sure feels like I'm less likely to netdeck in this game than in orders (also card availability). I've found a nice rotation of 3 decks I like playing : Odin Reveal, Zoo Swarming (Onslaught win con) and Destroy Carnage (it aint good but it sure is fun). I really am looking forward to unlocking a few more pieces to make my janky Move deck work better. I wasn't sold on the snapping mechanic, but I am now. It gives you a buffer to play gimmicks and when you bullshit a win you create a buffer for yourself.

Unless it's changed recently they can also see what you have and what you're playing, so they can perfect counter you.

I've had games where a cheating bot that was perfectly reading my moves just abruptly gave me the win as well.

Had a fun interaction earlier.

Turn 1 reveal was Bar Sinister. I played nothing.

Turn 2 was Tamar-Kaj. I played a Cable there and got Nova and Carnage.

Turn 3 I was curious, so I dropped Nova first, then Carnage at Bar Sinister. First Nova replicated himself twice so there were 3 total. Then Carnage ate all 3. Then 3 more Carnages spawned and the second one ate the other 3. I ended up with a single 13 power Carnage, and Cable had 3 Nova bonuses

Double posting, but the absurd location interactions is a big part of why I love the unlock system as it is. Everytime I assemble a MTG/Hearthstone-esque fine-tuned deck, I find I'm not having fun when the locations don't accomodate.

Slamming "play" with a deck full of commons, ready to retreat, but capable of unforeseen, dick-smashing interactions in the event of a match with meta-breaking ridiculous location combinations? YESSSSSSSSS

That is super not how I expected those effects to work under the hood. I only figured out what was going on when I realized Onslaught doesn't say "apply a 2x multiplier to your effect", he says "do your effect twice".

Best play at Bar Sinister I've seen so far is my opponent dropping a Hulkbuster there to merge itself into a 16 power behemoth that still left 3 slots open.

Three quick questions: If I want to hold at Pool 1, do I keep my CL at 213 or 214? And do I want to hold at Pool 1? (Maybe until I build up a credits bank?)

And how the heck do you get that pixel avatar they promised for the symbiote thing participation? I've done literally everything for every day except follow their social medias and I really don't wanna do that, but I don't got no avatar.
