its funny cause on the dem ticket we have Josh Shapiro, the reasonable moderate democrat who won't stop talking about how much he loves cops and tax cuts (aka captain succ) and radical socialist John Fetterman and the GOP ticket is the exact opposite where is Oz is playing up the role of reasonable moderate republican and Chud Mastriano is the lunatic (obviously that's all bullshit and Fetterman is like 85% succ compared to Shapiro's 100%, and Oz will just vote with the GOP every time anyway but that's the framing we're getting here in PA)

It won’t matter. Fetterman’s social democratic material pitch to voters will be so convincing that droves of previous non voters will show up to vote for his Policies even though his brain is slush. Please donate to Our Revolution®

there’s gonna be a ton of split ticket votes since Shapiro will run the table while Fetterman gets trounced i’m sure many measured and logical conclusions about electoral strategy will be drawn from this

Rs might go Shapiro/Oz because Mastriano is toxic, not so much the other way around.

I’m not even looking to argue or be combative or anything but it’s very wrong to think that a disastrous debate performance wouldn’t sway any voters. I know it seems ridiculous that people would care but they do. The range of possible results is definitely circumscribed by structural facts (hardline partisan blocs, economic performance, gas prices, demographics etc) but candidate quality & campaign performance still matter. But tbh I wrote this race off a long time ago just on the virtues of it being a midterm election w/ a sitting Dem president. So, not the end of the world that he’s blowing it.

Undecided/swing voters are an artifact of polling and a remnant of a previous era, nobody who considers themselves a democrat is going to vote for a Trump-endorsed candidate who will possibly be a tie breaker in the senate to keep Republican obstruction going over something as minor as a speech impediment. You don’t win in 2022 by trying to woo voters from across the aisle, you win by demoralizing the other side into staying home while energizing your base into voting. This angle Oz is taking is probably intended to demoralize democrat voters into not participating. This idea that registered Dems are going to cross the aisle over aphasia is silly. There may be some people, present company or otherwise, who are mad Conor Lamb got bounced and may vote Oz over it. I doubt it’s a significant number though.

I think you’re implying i’m one of those people upset about Lamb for some reason despite the fact that I didn’t care about this primary whatsoever. It is a fantasy you have constructed and I’m not sure why, besides the obvious cheap thrill of deconstructing a straw man. But yea vast majority of voters already hardened into their opinions and intentions. enough are in the middle to either stay home or jump ship to sway it, one way or the other. Not really worth splitting hairs about how that breaks down - but if you could please stop accusing me of supporting Lamb’s primary run I would appreciate it.
