The most successful, popular and successful Canadian consumer product is probably EA's FIFA franchise, made in Burnaby. Kind of doesn't count though considering it's a branch office of a US company.

housing is like 30% of canada's economic output so if interest rates go up, prices go down because people can't borrow insane amounts of money so by extension, don't interest rates have to go back down again to keep Canada from going into a deep recession so people will borrow insane amounts of money to buy houses again?

It has to play out. Even knowing what makes a stable economy etc. we still can't do it, we're geared to these boom and bust cycles. The ones at the top are set up to ride the wave up and down and make money both ways while average people underwrite it or get wiped out or both.

Quit my job after an argument with my employer over them breaking labour laws. They are having minors work unsupervised, overseeing other children. They acknowledged that I was right, but did it anyways. Immediately got another job that pays $7 more per hour.

Usually the provincial ministry of labour should have an online form where you can report labour law violations. This is the one for Ontario, for example: https://www.ontario.ca/document/your-guide-employment-standards-act-0/filing-claim

I'd recommend reaching out to your provincial ministry of labour. Most provinces do have minimum age requirements for certain job types.

I’ve made a labour complaint in BC before and the person dealing with my case really went to bat for me, hard recommend. (My employer was stiffing me ~20$ each paycheque and trying to withhold the 4% vacation comp on the grounds that I had two weeks off between leaving that job and starting my new one.)

I’ve been working through the pre-approval process and getting grilled on my finances, this is infuriating on multiple levels lol. May prices continue to tank so we can all be so fortunate.

I reported an employer to bc labour relations and while I don't know if they did anything (they werent screwing me, they were screwing an immigrant coworker), they did call me back and knew that the company had other complaints against it.
