It's a little underpowered but might be just flexible enough to see some play. 3/3 haste trample for 3 isn't too far behind the curve Yotian Frontliner 1 Artifact Creature - Soldier Whenever Yotian Frontliner attacks, another target creature you control gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Unearth W (W: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step or if it would leave the battlefield. Unearth only as a sorcery.) 1/1 Baby hellkite Value cards that are also value engines tend to be better than they first look This is going to miss an annoyingly large % of the time but still might be decent I like this take on reanimation Weird, something to keep a little bit of an eye on 3 mana and 3 life for 5 is a big ramp spell if you can make use of all the powerstone mana Does a fizzled enchantment count as going to graveyard from battlefield or not? Steel and Oil Dreams B Sorcery Target opponent reveals their hand. Choose up to one artifact or creature card from it, then choose an artifact or creature card from their graveyard. Exile the chosen cards.

Touching up my old budget woofs deck, came up with a new version I might try to play tonight, if I can get to the LGS in time. Is there anything I'm obviously missing that'd make a great auto-include? It's been a few years since I played seriously.

Works pretty well with Thalia and her Lieutenant, Brutal Cathar, and Recruitment Officer which might replace the Dauntless Bodyguards. It would be truly bonkers if it made humans that triggered the Lieutenant. Siege Veteran is definitely good, but 3 is crowded.

I think it's the opposite and we haven't scratched the surface of everything this card can do: Basic lands are easier to search for. Basic lands often have a protection clause tacked onto them in that often cards can't target them like the can other lands, and often they can't be named like other cards.

I don't think this affects naming at all. And it doesn't affect cards in your hand or graveyard so it doesn't protect you from (say) surgical extraction either. You get protection from things that destroy nonbasic lands in play, and you get to tutor up whatever lands you want with Ash Barrens or similar. I'm not sure that's worth 4 outside a slow commander game.

Jabor posted:I don't think this affects naming at all. And it doesn't affect cards in your hand or graveyard so it doesn't protect you from (say) surgical extraction either. Yeah that's basically where I'm at. It gives you protection from Wasteland/Blood Moon and makes some already marginal cards slightly better. 4 mana for that seems like a whole lot. If they worded it in such a way that it did all that AND let fetches get anything that'd be a lot more interesting.
