Got our first 2 around 5:30 (mom said she couldn't hold them back any longer).

Turned the lights off at 8PM at 237. I bought for 300+ so we were safe. It was almost perfect weather for here, about 10C and not windy, which is not something to be taken for granted this time of year.

I took every precaution but people around me stopped giving a poo poo 6 months ago, so i guess it was inevitable.

I'm double boosted and the last one was the bivalent 6 weeks ago, but I'm also on immune suppressants and fighting for breath through mild exercise as a baseline, so

Day 3, so far pain is just lungs 2/10, throat 4/10, headache 8/10.

How do you find the low speed fueling? My only complaint so far is you can tell it's tuned lean as hell at low speeds and makes it all very jerky with weird flat spots until the revs get up. Lots of fixes out there from simple booster plugs to full on piggyback solutions.

Didn't LOOK bad, but from the in-car video you could tell it was pretty hosed (radiator for sure, suspension, steering). I think the suspension took the brunt of it.

But as someone else said, they'd be stupid to fix that one. One of the few times a wreck makes a car's value skyrocket.

Last year we had our very first trick-or-treaters and they were accompanied by a Coast Guard Jayhawk helicopter. I heard the helicopter hovering over our house and walked out of the shop to a small group of teenagers standing in my driveway.
Alaska just has to be extra, I've never seen literal helicopter parenting before.

I thought the smoke was from body/wall interference or tires rubbing on stuff, not radiator, but I could easily be wrong. It looked like he put it into the wall as gently as possible and rode it, so hopefully minimal chassis damage?

The good news is that the bivalent booster is pretty spot on for what's going around RIGHT NOW so that's good. In three months it'll be something else and you'll have some full immunity, could be worse

Feel better soon

I dealt with it by getting a Coober piggyback ECU. smoothed everything out pretty nicely and no hit to economy. Still getting about 67mpg.

Might sell it in the spring though. Not sure how much I’ll be able to ride in the future since my new normal includes an 80 mile commute a couple of times a week, and my car collection keeps growing so I’ve got to drive those as well.

I don't know man everytime I go to the gym here there are like two huge dudes with raging high and tights snorting Nitro-tech off of each other's rock hard abs.
I may have bitched about this in the past, but I still can't get past it. I've read a lot of books, I'm prepared for interesting pacing and an over focus on meaningless details, but I was not prepared for the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring. I do audiobooks now and listening to songs, tiny hints, and minutiae for 10 hours to reach the Prancing Pony is a big ask. Took me a few attempts to actually get into it

Also Tom Bombadil. Did Tolkien just put himself in his book as a empty headed god that hangs in the Shire and is married to the daughter of rivers, or is there stuff in the deep lore explaining how he existed before existence? Or just something that acknowledges what Tom claims about himself?

bad_fmr posted:

Oh, those guys. Sure, they're going to be the go to guys to design a complex of tunnels that makes the most of any potential turns and promises even more dynamic races, but with their sterling record? They'll just end up turning the entire width of the track they "improve" into one, single lane death trap that travels at speeds of up to 10 mph sometimes and has no way to get emergency vehicles to where they're needed

It is never discussed who or what Tom Bombadil is and yes it is just meaningless fluff that was removed from the movies for a good reason. You just have his word that he existed before the world pretty much and may come from the dark beyond like Ungoliant.
