I got my driver's license in Spain years ago and in the theory classes they were drilling the 0.5g/l BAC number because it's a question on the theory exam and I remember being shocked and horrified as an American. after driving for a couple years now I've learned to avoid the night before holidays because the highways are full of drunk drivers. imagine my surprise when my driving teacher later stated it was the same for the drivers of the big coach buses full of tourists you see everywhere because "you can't expect the bus driver to not have a glass of wine with his menú del día"
