Still going through the newspaper archive site, looking for oddball comic strips. Here's another

Don Martin was one of the most well known creators to appear in MAD Magazine. However, there would be bad blood between Martin and Bill Gaines over royalties. Specifically, Don Martin not getting royalties for his old material being reprinted (MAD owned all the copyright for everything published). Don Martin would quit MAD in 1987. Even though Don Martin is heavily associated with MAD, he had a very nasty falling out with them and spent the last decade of his life burning all bridges with them.

After leaving MAD, Don Martin began cartooning for the rival Cracked magazine; unlike with MAD, he retained copyright for his Cracked work. He also created a newspaper strip called The Nutheads, which ran for a few years starting in 1989.
