I have no problem with a full-on forum ban on what is now basically kiddie porn.

As someone who was deeply into webcomics i their heyday, seeing how Ishida has fallen down the alt-right rabbit hole in his search for validation was very interesting.

And now that I’ve seen that, I don’t really need to see him flail and trash in his weirdly competent/incompetent way. I’m fine if we stop posting him until he does something newly noteworthy.

I like seeing Ishida's rapid and somehow perpetual deterioration. That might be because I used to read Sinfest as a kid, it just got thrown into the folder of webcomic links I checked every day for some reason. I never laughed at it but I liked the edgy online atheist poo poo and cheesecake because I was a young teen shitlord.

The most fascinating thing about the work is unlike, say, Garrison, the characters and symbols are always reused but put to different purposes. The disconnect between symbol and meaning is what makes it less coherent than a literal crazy person. It's like if I wrote:

The sandwich is kind.
The sandwich is beautiful.
The sandwich is corrupt.
The sandwich is you
The sandwich is me.
The sandwich is nothing.
The sandwich is cruel.
The sandwich is Joe Biden.

I just kept doing that every day for years, and there's a kind of negative trend and descent into darkness that reflects my own decaying mental state but it's absolutely a mistake to connect the first lines with the latest lines, they have no relationship except that they came from the same brain.

I'm pretty sure the original symbolism of the characters is they all embodied a particular sin. Slick was lust, Monique was greed or envy, pig was sloth or gluttony, angelic guy was pride, etc.

Sounds fair to me. Weekends are a slow time for the thread anyways , and watching his TERF to full facist brain rot in real time has been interesting. If Ishida continuous to degrade, to the point that multiple strips a week are unpostable, the way Muir was before the ban, it can always be revisited.

KIIIRRRYYYUUUUU CHAAAANNNNNN

quote:

NOW PAY EIGHT DOLLARS
Musk has been calling out all the right people, but remains hard to read.

The new Twit-In-Chief had some fun with AOC in a back and forth on Twitter. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually an $8/mo subscription plan”.

And Musk replied:

“Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8”

Musk having some fun with the usual brain dead blue checks is funny and entertaining. He is calling them out publicly, but his internal moves inside his new Twitter are more disturbing. He recently announced the formation of a Twitter content moderation board that included the ADL and others who called for the banning of President Trump while he was in office.

You might as well have a Twitter censorship board made up of Stephen King, Don Lemon and Cher. No one on the right is represented. Musk also recommended on Monday Yoel Roth, the Head of Safety & Integrity at Twitter, for the “most accurate understanding of what’s happening with trust & safety at Twitter.”

Needless to say we were NOT impressed that choice. Looks like the new boss is the same as the old boss.

Looks like the lefties on the Twitter content moderation board have Musk’s ear. Musk also said no accounts that were banned for dubious reasons would be reinstated before November 8th. Looks like Musk is playing both sides. He tells the Right, yes your accounts will be reinstated, but turns to the left and adds, not until after the election.

We shall see how this plays out and whether or not Musk reinstates the Twitter accounts that were permanently suspended in January 2021. That includes our Twitter account @grrrgraphics that had been on Twitter since 2010. The reason we were banned? Twitter said we were “spamming” a very dubious reason to suspend us indeed.

We will enjoy watching the ongoing Twit show and hope that out freedom of speech makes a return on Musk’s blue bird platform.

Update: Musk to fire 50% of Twitter staff on November 4th. Good Start! Next, fire the moderation board!

quote:

“JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO” -MEGA MAGA READY TO EXPLODE!
Over and over again Biden and his Democrats have smeared MAGA supporters as being ’a threat to our democracy.’ They claim we are ‘election deniers’ for pointing out concrete evidence of their election fraud. This is confusing because the Democrats themselves denied the legitimate election of Trump and proceeded to invent lies to destroy him. Joe Biden called himself a ‘uniter’ during his inauguration, but he has since made many divisive speeches. In his latest one he again vilified nearly half of America for being ‘election deniers’ and MAGA ‘extremists.’

I am one of those MAGA extremists. I believe in making America great again and that means the restoration of freedom. Especially freedom of speech.“Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue.”Those words were spoken by Barry Goldwater. My dad took us kids to hear him speak in the open air somewhere near San Diego when Goldwater was running for president. I was only 7 years old at the time and I can’t remember much about it, but perhaps I heard him say those very words. I remember being against LBJ back then, but I didn’t know exactly why. It was my earliest exposure to politics.

I know exactly why I’m against Joe Biden and the Democrats. They use lies and propaganda to distract us from the fact that they are actively destroying America. Their phrase ‘our democracy’ is used to cover up a great many outrages including out-of-control crime, wide open borders controlled by Mexican drug gangs, runaway inflation, the sexual mutilation of children, rampant homelessness, medical tyranny, a woke and weakened military, and even the dire threat of nuclear war. To the Democrats, ‘our democracy’ really means ‘our permanent power.’ Or ‘our socialism,’ or ‘our green globalism.’

Their democracy really means the continued destruction of America.

The bums currently in power need to be thrown out. The MAGA midterm volcano is angry and ready to erupt. Joe is fighting a voting volcano filled with anger, resentment, and outrage. He may denounce the volcano in his speeches, but he cannot stop the anti-Democrat Party eruption soon to come. Biden is not just demented—he’s also a liar, a pedophile, a criminal, and a traitor.

Biden is unfit for office. After the Republicans take Congress, their first order of business should be Joe’s impeachment.

— Ben Garrison

quote:

DEEP STATE CAPTAIN CROOK
We know Biden isn’t really in charge. He’s a hollow, mannequin-in-chief who stares at a teleprompter and mumbles lies written by others. When left on his own, he tells his own bumbling lies, then wanders off from the podium, confused and lost.

So who is really running the White House and directing its destructive policies? Many say Obama and his operatives are in charge behind the scenes. In effect, Joe’s regime is Barack’s third term. Still, Obama was also a puppet just like Joe is. Both Barack and Joe continue to run a game plan written by powerful people who set agendas while behind the scenes. Some are powerful billionaires such as George Soros, but he in turn is controlled by those who own most of the wealth in the world as well as our institutions, the mainstream corporate media, and politicians.

In 2008 during their presidential quests, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton disappeared for a day. At first there was a little bit of panic from the media, then quickly it all calmed down. That’s because they learned Barack and Hillary were attending a Bilderberg meeting in Virginia. No media covered the meeting. It was all hush-hush. There was no campaign staff in attendance. At the meeting it was determined that Obama would become the Democrat nominee, while Hillary would be delivered an important position within the administration. She was later made Secretary of State. The voters had no say. A Deep State Shadow Government had the say—and they still do.

Once things are decided by the deciding oligarchy in charge, the media are handed talking points by the CIA and the elections are rigged. Joe Biden finished in last place during the initial Democrat Party primaries, then magically he was the front runner. The deciders decided to make Biden the next president. Joe coasted to the nomination and then the elections were rigged to make sure he won. (The elections were rigged against Trump, too…but they underestimated his popularity and Hillary still lost.)

Everyone saw through the lying and corrupt Biden. He was not popular. He campaigned in his basement. When he did make a few public appearances he drew a handful of people, whereas Trump drew crowds in the tens of thousands. Yet Joe (supposedly) won while collecting 81 million popular votes. More than Obama!

I predict the Democrats will cheat again, and this time they won’t care how obvious it is. All they have to do is smear those who object as ‘election deniers.’

Remember, Biden is not in charge and neither is Fetterman. The ship of state known as the USA was taken over by pirates a long time ago.

— Ben Garrison

Comparing Sinfest to DbD is probably less apt than we like to think. The only common thread is Ishida's newly emerging trend towards borderline-to-outright illegal sexual content.

It'd probably be more accurate to compare it to Stonetoss, except that Stonetoss is at least semi-capable of hiding their Nazi propaganda behind a degree of plausible deniability.

Storylines in Sinfest don’t play out, they just stop when he thinks of another superhero pun to riff on for a week. Like, I don’t think we ever saw the aftermath of the prison break for Slick and crew at all this year.

It’s not building up to anything. He just feels this weird compulsion to keep trying at an overarching political story when he clearly rather just own the libs with ancient memes in one-off strips.
