Cartoon supervillains are more reasonable and pragmatic.

From the election mail I received from republican candidates they def ran on culture war issues. It blows my mind that they are just saying that the economy is bad now. The economy has been bad for most people in this country for multiple decades considering if you get sick you may end up destitute as well as the fact you have the fed actively trying to limit the power of labor. The whole crime being on the rise thing also pisses me off. Most of these chuds are never going to be the target of a crime beyond wage theft. Its generally the marginalized people that these scumbags are afraid of gaining any sort of social power that are the victims of crime. Getting tough on crime has done nothing but enrich police departments and private prisons while harming certain communities with scalpal like precision. The biggest problem with the whole crime thing is that both parties use it as a cudgel. The democrats are afraid of what the republicans are painting them as. They dont want to be seen as weak on crime and republicans are just loving crazy about it. The system needs reformed and there are no two ways about it. Our police look like soldiers anymore and they act like they are in a warzone.

Yeah, house, senate, governor, sec of state, att general, dem majority Supreme Court; also the propositions for reproductive rights and greatly expanded voting rights including more than a week of early voting all passed. It's loving insane in the mitt, putting abortion on the ballot backfired horrendously.

It depends on how it becomes illegal federally. If SCOTUS rules that fetuses are human lives, then it's probably going to overrule the states. If a law is passed saying abortion is murder or something, then that would only cover USGOV jurisdiction (DC, federal prison, etc) and interstate travel for the purpose of abortion.

Also there are some drugs that are illegal federally that have been legalized on the state level. They're very different situations but I'm just saying it's not always simple.

Musk just sold ~$4 billion worth of Tesla stock and is now openly floating crazy ideas for how to generate some quick money from Twitter before he has to make his $1 billion interest payment in a few months. These ideas include: - Putting the entire site behind a paywall. - Offering bank accounts and paying interest to users if they link their banks to their Twitter accounts and let Twitter take loans out against their money. - Offering a special 18+ subscription version of Twitter to compete with OnlyFans. - Requiring a one-time payment to open an account (the Lowtax model, lol) https://twitter.com/MsHannahMurphy/status/1590413876021321728 Musk is having a live Q&A right now on Twitter where he is taking pitches for other ways to monetize the site from users: https://twitter.com/robinw/status/1590403084513333249

Doesn't Twitter already have the ability to tag content as 18+ only? Except they don't let users do this themselves, they apply their own mysterious and arbitrary standards. I remember seeing a tweet dump on this forum where it tagged a picture of a kitten as potentially offensive.

The one thing that really came through from the flood of Musk's text messages with other Big Tech leaders that we got access to through Twitter's lawsuit was that The Emperor has no clothes. Given that he is clearly a moron, crowdsourcing ideas for Twitter's development is probably one of the better ideas Musk has had, but it still won't save him.
