If twitter employees could work from home full time then it's logical to assume that a large number of them aren't in a commutable distance to the twitter office. Now, we'd assume Elon would of fired those people in the lay-offs if he was smart but we know that's not the case. LOL!

I'm actually impressed with the resilience of Twitter as it still hadn't collapsed in on itself despite Musk's nonstop efforts. I give it another week or two.

I was reading about the ID software director Marty Stratton earlier today and was getting massive Elon vibes from him. https://medium.com/@mickgordon/my-full-statement-regarding-doom-eternal-5f98266b27ce#b04c It's unrelated to Elon but worth reading if you like getting angry at psychotic bosses. Marty even went to reddit to make a big smear campaign against the composer which resulted in a bunch of sycophants who love brand cyber bullying Mick.

Convex posted:Another one! From the SF Chronicle, 1 year ago: quote:Twitter is allowing almost all employees to work remotely forever, and 95% of its over 5,500 employees plan to stay home or be in the office only a few days a week. The article is about new office space in Oakland that Twitter had just announced: quote:The social media company will occupy 66,000 square feet across four floors in the 18-story tower, with an opening planned in late 2022. Twitter said the space is being designed to support hybrid work, with areas for quiet focus and collaboration. The company confirmed the Oakland expansion plans in July but didn’t specify the location until Friday. So that space and the Twitter HQ will probably need to be completely redesigned to accommodate on-site workers and it probably won't even be enough if everybody actually turns up. Based on Google results for average sq ft requirements per employee, the new Oakland space can hold about 375 people and their 174,000 sq ft office on Market street can hold about 1000. Good luck finding a desk on Monday! Plus he's also demanding a 24/7 work culture so presumably everyone will need a sleeping pod as well.
