What the gently caress is wrong with people? Why would you want this? It's miserable. Normally I can ride my bicycle leisurely past traffic, past the traffic jam of parking, lock my bike at the store entrance. Maybe I'll see one other bike at the bike rack. I walked 15+ min in the pouring rain both ways because I thought it was so loving dumb to drive the 0.9 miles and I was right. I had enough fun and it was a reminder that I'm not doing enough activity.

Teaching my 5 year old to commute by bike is awesome. He's internalised that cars kill animals, which makes them bad. And because we ride on suburban streets which are pretty narrow (because of parked cars), any car gets to drive behind us at his speed. I imagine they hate it, but I'm not gonna teach him to speed up or pull over if he has as much (or more) right to the street. Don't try this in USA though, I'm pretty sure you will get run over and sued to bankruptcy afterwards.

Yeah people don't like it when you cut through their property. One of my neighbors said it was ok to cut through his yard, but he's kind of weird and I try to stay away from him. There's a new development going up here that doesn't have through access for cars but does have pedestrian/bike outlets on several sides, which is great to see.

Before I moved here I was walking down a street in Amsterdam when I heard a CRUNCH behind me. A car had turned across the path of a tram, and lost. I also see the occasional RAM, mainly in the Dutch bible belt area, and they are stupidly big and have to have silly narrow number plates because the Dutch ones are wider than the space for them.

Ideally something like a scifi laser cage so it cleanly cuts the front of the truck off without potentially sending it into pedestrians and cyclists
