Are you happy now?

Isn't this a FTC violation because they just violated the privacy of 7500+ ex-employees. A lot of whom are in California that has it;s own laws about that.

And there's no one at Twitter right now who can respond to the FTC.

We are legitimately in uncharted legal territory. Defamation might be in the cards for whoever created the account and tweeted out "we're assholes who shouldn't be charging for insulin," particularly since they used a handle that made it look official. Damages would be limited to the PR cleanup though, since stock prices recovered. But it's still a real harm.

But what about Twitter? We can get real deep in the weeds and can go into a bunch of statutory and common law implications, but I'm not sure this thread is ready for a legalese filled effort post. Suffice it to say there are problems for Twitter that could create precedent for years no matter who wins.

I'm always ready for a legalese filled post

they fired half their staff, let's naively assume they only burn $2m/day instead of $4m now and earn $1m per month from blue. to reach the target of half their money coming from subscriptions instead of ads, they only need to increase the price of blue by 30x, so $240/mo, and keep all current subscribers and get all their advertisers back.

everyone doubted elon but you have to admit the plan is taking shape.

I suck at math but 1.1 million dollars, assuming they only get 70% of those 8 bucks because 30% goes to Apple (you can only buy it through the iOS app, right?)... that's 200 thousand subscriptions? I may be very wrong here.

I don't know what you are talking about. With the widespread press coverage and discussions about the new service all over Twitter, they've been able to convert 0.03% of their user base! Everything is going great! Now they just need to increase that conversion rate by 1000x within the next month. No problem at all!

The article says it's around 140,000 subscriptions, they're assuming the full $1.1 mil goes to Twitter.
