But a true gourmet will know to caramelize that pineapple, pair it with savory/smoked ham, basil, etc. Gotta counterbalance that sweetness if ya wanna experience flavourtown

So, I mostly don't like pineapple on pizza, but I have had certain pizzas where it's good. It involves, as already stated, good fresh pineapple (and not too much!), and it has to have a spicy ingredient that brings balance to the sweetness. Ham and pineapple? Trash. Pineapple and spicy capocollo? Or some pancetta with either a spicy sauce, or some pickled jalapenos? Now you're talking a decent pie. Still, all things being equal, I'd prefer a pizza without pineapple, so why go to all that trouble?

I’ve had them with popcorn chicken (from Panago) and with salami (from a local place) and both were top-tier. When Panago took them off the menu I emailed to complain which I have literally never done with a company before.
