The funniest part of this somehow is still that their immediate next game/first under him is against McDaniels and Carr, so he can very easily still start undefeated

Still shot themselves in the foot at times, but the offensive line wasn't a dumpster fire. Improvement!

it will be extremely funny when Jeff Saturday wins the majority of his games as a coach, then the Colts hire a real coach, and then they start next season 2-4.

Sadly the fun and games will probably end next week when the Eagles, led by Reich's protege, absolutely demolish the Colts. But for now, it's pretty great

Jags the only team in the division with a positive point differential. This division is drunk.

Okay so my latest guess into the thought process here is that the Colts aren't trying to intentionally tank this year. They're going to see if the original plan will work with a new coach.

If it doesn't, then next year they'll try to sign Lamar. If they don't get him, they'll stick with Ryan again and try the same thing as this year.

But they won't embrace a full tank until 2025 because the ultimate goal of Irsay is to draft Arch Manning.

Irsay will tank until he gets Arch Manning passing to Marvin Harrison Jr

I do agree that he's not trying to tank this year, I think he just knew Reich was done and took a big swing to course-correct. Plus this way there's no drama at the end of the season about an interim coach figuring into the coaching search, since I still believe Saturday will just walk away and not be considered.

Don't you tell me my business again.
I don't know anything about Jeff Saturday but it seems like Colts have o-line issues and that they DID look better Sunday.

If he would be qualified to fix/coach anything, it'd be the guys up front.

Dunno if I'd rather hope for a win against the Packers or hope the offense gets shut out in the hopes that our wannabe-Sean Payton OC finally gets canned.

I just don’t see Vrabel firing somebody midseason. And frankly gently caress the packers. Downing has things he is good at and I hate Aaron Rogers.

There might be an even more sinister fate in store for him.

Well, sinister for some poor sucker of a team. So, probably the Raiders.
