One of my favorite games is Grim Fandango which actually has left-wing political themes in it, but they don't seem to be inserted into the game in an overly artificial way in order to lecture the player, in my opinion. Disco Elysium, with its long-winded moral lectures about socialism seems like it would be the type of video game goons would go cuckoo for, but it sounds like the game has a lot more going for it other than that.

I haven't played MGSV yet, so I didn't watch your video, but in the case of MGS, the long winded melodramatic speeches are a part of the charm of the series, IMO. It's like lyrics in 90's rap music, Megadeth, or Rage Against the Machine songs--the over-the-top, bombastic nature of the lyrics is part of the charm. Not something to be taken very seriously.

I would imagine that experiencing the game solely through the contextless walls of text that people who like the game post over and over and over would give you an inaccurate negative impression of what the game is. (This is for example how I have so far experienced the game.)

Pokémon has survived on its cute character appeal and fun world building. The core games themselves are awful to play. The battle system is boring and was outdated in 1996 when Gen 1 came out. They should have focused on making the games fun instead of just adding more and more bloat to the world.

Pokemon is exclusively for children and adults who played Pokemon as children. I think it permanently hardwires the brain to accept Pokemon as a dopamine pathway, but it can only be achieved in a prepubescent child I don't think a single human adult has picked up a Pokemon game for the first time and enjoyed it. If it has happened, that human adult is a disgusting sicko and should probably be in jail

They've made rivals really trivial adversaries in recent gens, picking the starter that's weak to yours and having generally terrible tactics. Your rival in Gen 1 was a genuine threat, even playing the remakes as a teenager.

Game freak are on some Psyop poo poo to see just how bad they can make a game and still have sycophant man children buy it. The poster talking about the game not advancing is dead wrong, they aren't not advancing they're actively regressing as a franchise. Pokemon is the second most valuable game franchise of all time and they can't put all of the creatures in the game, can't bring back difficulty levels, can't bring back clothing options, can't bring back battle frontier, can't bring back tournaments from Black and White, or Gym Rematches, or any of the other dozen features that they've stripped out so they can poo poo out N64 looking games with garbage animations and a 5 hour story that people will defend like it's the Alamo. I have no idea why anyone would choose to play Game freaks garbage output when Romhacks and Megaten both offer a better experience for anyone who hasn't experienced a recent lobotomy

There should be an alternate version of soccer where the teams try to score own goals. It would be a much more exciting and higher scoring game because the goalie would be trying to put the ball in the goal.
