In my last ~4-5 hours of play I had to put up with maybe a minute and a half of there being a bot before it got kicked

Its really kind of incredible how its such a deep movement mechanic that there's a whole subculture built around turning this team based first person shooter into an extremely complex and skill based 3D platformer. I almost wish something like TF2 explosive jumping was spun off into an entire game of its own because there's nothing quite like it and it could certainly support a standalone game.

I'm not the greatest at Rocket Jumping but I think I've got the basics that any decent Soldier player needs to know Definitely better at Sticky Jumping but there's a bunch of things that make that easier to learn than with Rockets for the basic mobility aspects(both in terms of control and the fact that Demo still has a Grenade Launcher in his primary slot normally so using the Sticky Jumper to practice means you can still be quite dangerous), though of course Demo is slightly more limited in using explosive jumping than Soldier since Stickies cause more self damage than Rockets and Demo doesn't have something like the Gunboats to mitigate the damage

Basic demo jumping is easier which lets you focus on mastering airstrafing to get where you want to go. Once you get to advanced stuff like airpogos then it's really tough though lol. Rocket jumping has a much smoother progression of more and more advanced tricks to learn.

I used to play comp as a pretty lovely Demo so I basically have those sticky jump rollouts etched into my brain. Soldier's process rollout is also extremely fun to do from what I remember

Took me around 150 minutes lol I'm hooked again, and im not even playing the shooting part of the game

I don't wanna do lobbies forever they're too high maintenance at some point I just wanna pub and my experience has been pubs remain unplayable. Valve killed communited servers and forced valve servers on us, made the game F2P with the promise of keeping hackers at bay, and then they didn't do anything about hackers. TF2 has had the worst hacker problem of any game I have ever played in my life. I kept coming back every few months hoping the bots would subside. TF2 remained unplayable and I just gave up on this game after a while. This is my last screenshot of TF2. (8/14/2021)

Bot problem is mostly resolved, there was a big push on Twitter a while back about #saveTF2, and it made enough noise that Valve actually hired some freelance coders to break the bots and fix some of the bugs. You still run into a bot every so often, but casual is actually playable again, and votekicking bots actually works now.

I just received an unprompted trade offer for 45 keys in exchange for a handful of my hats and weapons that have Halloween spells on them. On the one hand this is obviously way below value because they're just sending out this offer blind, on the other hand I don't play this game any more and Halloween spell items are generally harder to estimate a value for and sell on the marketplace so I'm tempted to just do it. Is there a good resource for prices for spelled stuff? Ooof, you see its very hard to prices things easily when you're talking about halloween spells, so its always a bit up in the air if you aren't completely immersed in the trading scene. It's less that I really want to move them and more that I'm almost certainly done with this game and wouldn't mind selling. I haven't unloaded these particular items because they're hard to price and many can't be sold directly on the market, so really just laziness. Obviously this out of the blue request is some kind of scam; if it's the kind where they're lowballing me a little I'd probably just do it because hey, $90 and it's easy. If putting in a little work could reliably get me significantly more then I'd think about it. If it's just the kind of scam where I lose the poo poo and don't get anything out of it and 45 keys is actually absurdly high then yeah, obviously not doing that.

I have a ton of halloween spells on my big ticket items (strange professional killstreak australium flamethrower for example) and it is always a nice surprise when I go to play a game and full moon is activated and the flames are all green and my voice is considerably lower, which is what I think the exorcism spell does. Also I managed to put a specialised killstreak (the sheen, not the eyes thing) on a cosmetic a while ago but sadly it does not count kills when everything else is regular. Not sure if it does the sheen.

Voices From Below is the deep voice spell I think, Exorcism iirc makes little ghosts fly out of someone when you kill them? My Scout is a mess of spells because he was my guinea pig when they first came out lol, he’s got a deep voice, a pulsating yellow-green shirt and leaves fire trails everywhere he goes (which is not conductive to being sneaky, but it looks cool, so it balances out)

Oh yes! Voices from the deep! I love the pumpkin bombs one. Have that on my original and grenade launcher. Bright purple explosions. I never thought the halloween spells would be a one year release only so whacked them on all of my favourite stuff and some have 3 spells as well as everything else.

The cosmetics are tough to price, but I'm seeing like 1-2 keys for the weapons. Outside of the spells none of these are particularly valuable items. Kwarezm is offering me $100 cash and I'll probably just take that once we work out details, I'm sure it's less than they're generally worth but I also don't really care that much and there's no way I'm going to put forth effort in selling these.
