You can buy beer at football games here in the UK but you can’t take it from the concourse to watch the match with. Hence people necking 4 quick pints at half time before going back to their seat. I think it’s an FA rule that you can’t drink in sight of the pitch. In fact I think at Blackpool FC there’s a hotel at the ground that fans can stay in which overlooks the pitch but you can’t watch the match from your room in case you have a drink. That might be an urban legend but it’s stupid enough to be true.

In Seattle at Mariners games I believe beer is served in cans and plastic cups. Could huck a can at the field but imagine that would result in instant arrest and lifetime ban, like that dude in Toronto a few years back. Not sure about how drinks are served at Seahawks stadium but last time I went folk were out of their minds drunk to the point where it felt like a terrible bar indifferent to over service. No objections to someone having a beer with the game but that was no fun.
