Bird seems primed to become a meme stock. Then again, with how much money all the meme stock crowd has lost over the last few years I don't know what they could rally much in the way of a rebound here.

My apartment complex is at the edge of a tourist-y area in town, and as a result we have a flood of those scooters set at the edge of the property each morning. It helps that we have the big utility access pads that provide a nice, flat, non-sidewalk surface to set them. Here's what it looked like one day (after about half of them had been taken).

They get a lot of use around here. But honestly, I don't know how well that translates to actual profit for the company.

It doesn't. There were a few articles a a year or so ago showing that even if it doesn't get thrown into a river on average a scooter is broken beyond economic repair well before it has paid for itself in rides. A lot of this has to do with them being treated like poo poo by the riders, the people who pick them up to charge them, and everyone they are tripping when they're sitting around. So it's really not a surprise.

Given the safety engineering you could expect for an essentially-disposable e-transport machine and the very large energy capacity involved, I'm not sure "firesale" is a word that would attract me into buying a used one.

You're missing my point. Given the inherent limits of blockchain, a wholly self-contained transactional system like a stock clearinghouse is one of the best possible use-cases. It's certainly better than "video games on the blockchain" or "supply chain integrity system". But, despite being a best-case scenario, it still didn't work. Every other blockchain project (outside of cryptocurrency) is less suited for blockchain technology, and thus even more likely to fail.

A super-well-funded clearinghouse, run by the actual stock exchange itself, who could declare the blockchain's data as the single source of truth, still failed. So every other use case has to compare itself to the ASX project, ask if blockchain is more or less applicable than it was there, and if it's less applicable then it's guaranteed to fail.

If I quote this post does that start a blockchain?

Today I woke up to $3200 back in my bank account. $3200 that I had invested into FTX for the past 4 months. Hours of working overtime and going without just to buy these dips. I thought it was all gone. All of it. I decided to file a dispute with my bank and se if visa could do a chargeback on FTX. WELL........ IT WORKED!! I GOT IT ALL BACK!!!!! FTX still has $$$$ in bank accounts somewhere that are linked to their "insolvent" company. If they were insolvent, their bank account would be dry. Lets really Bank Run these MFers. Call your banks up that you used to deposit into FTX. Dispute EVERY SINGLE CHARGE. They want to steal our crypto? We will get our drat investments back reinvest elsewhere. Lets bleed them dry of every $$$ that they have left. Lets loving do this and send them into the finanical shitter. FTX.... you may be able to hold our crypto, butnyou cannot hold the hard earned $$ WE invested into you scumbags

Hi, my name is Joe and if anyone has seen the news lately and is into crypto then you know what happened to the FTX trading app. I had over 10k saved to surprise my girlfriend of 2 years with her dream ring she always deserved. Everything was going great after crypto tanked and I was finally making my money back. Four or five days ago FTX filed for bankruptcy and people lost millions of dollars. I am luckily not one who lost over 10k, but like many others my app is frozen and all the funds are gone.

Planning on spending 10k on a ring or investing it in crypto, which is more BWM?

No way that's real or actually works. It's a bogus dispute that should be correctable if FTX lodges any sort of rebuttal. The bigger question, if it even applies, is why would FTX allow purchases of crypto on credit? I'm guessing that they don't, or maybe I'm putting to much faith in their operation. There's no way. Right? Right?

I'm number two around here.

I'm sure most banks will deny it outright from the start and some banks will give a provisional credit while they investigate the "fraud" alleged to initiate the chargeback or claim. With FTX being in complete disarray I suppose there is a very, very, very slim chance a few people somehow beat the odds and some overworked agent at the bank goes "well nobody at FTX picked up the phone to dispute the claim" and grants it but I sure wouldn't bet a potential bank fraud charge on that.
