Donald Trump endorsed "Eric" in a Republican primary where three candidates were named Eric, including both frontrunners. When asked for clarification, a spokesman said the former president's statement "speaks for itself".

Ron Paul was infamous on the Hill for double-billing all of his expenses - whenever he went on a speaking engagement or a campaign trip or a luncheon or really anything at all he could reasonably expense, he would bill it to both his Congressional expense account and also to one or more of various Ron Paul aligned libertarian orgs, so he'd spend 50 bucks on a dinner or something and make 100-200 back I don't think anyone has ever done a full accounting of dollar amounts but it is likely he directly ripped off his own diehard supporters to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars

a group of hardcore Ron Paul fans bought ronpaul.com and spent a shitload of time, money, and effort putting together a website, associated political organization, and a mailing list with several hundred thousand people on it, fundraised a big pile of money for him, and then Ron Paul decided he wanted that domain name so he immediately stabbed them in the back and sued them into oblivion the funniest part is that he started by filing a complaint with the UN's World Intellectual Property Organization asking them to confiscate the website for him, which his supporters viewed as the ultimate betrayal because he was working with the evil ZOG-run UN

Ron Paul repeatedly introducing legislation that would authorize the US government to issue Letters of Marque, an extremely archaic document that was a legal sanction for a private individual to commit piracy or banditry in the name of a government. they were really common during the Golden Age of Piracy and most of the famous pirates you can think of had one from one country or another, but there hasn't been one issued by anyone in like 200 years Paul wanted to use them to 'fight terrorism'

Specifically he wanted them used to fight off Somalian pirates so at least he was keeping the theme right

he even has his own section on the wikipedia page for Letters of Marque about it except wait what's this: In February of 2022, House bill H.R. 6869 was introduced, and if passed would "[authorize] the President to issue letters of marque and reprisal" in relation to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.[45] Sponsor: Rep. Gooden, Lance [R-TX-5] (Introduced 02/28/2022)

Ron Paul's fans made a bunch of similar hype videos with kinda impressive video quality. One had action trailer music while Ron Paul spoke, cut with inspiring interstitials about his primary campaign: "Largest single day donation drive in history" "Only anti-war candidate" "Only campaign with a blimp"

so what makes the ron paul ad funnier to me, is that eric li did a talk in china for some "ted talk" equivalent with cyberpunk graphics and talking about the rise of support for socialism among american millennials, and how AOC said capitalism won't last forever (like marx) and the young people in the crowd laugh and applaud. i don't give a gently caress what you think about AOC but it is the ron paul ad about chinese communists gloating about how hosed america is coming true but it's actually good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E4wYpktV3M
