Yeah, a lot of names were changed when localising Chrono Trigger. Sometimes just different random references (Soy, Mayo and Vinegar to Ozzy, Slash and Flea) sometimes ones adding way more implied dignity and mythology to the characters (Bash, Mash and Gash to Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspar)

Ooh, I like this premise. A can beat B but always loses to C, so we're going to summon J from another world to defeat C but J is being terrorized by F so we need to summon... Lots of chances for distinct characters to arrive and assert themselves. I can't wait for the drunken master section of the manga.

The setup was so-so and it could have been done a lot better, but the whole punchline was pretty hype, and I don't doubt that ONE will be able to pull off something interesting with it.

It would be a little dull if it's just future people kill the demons and magic medieval people kill the aliens or whatever. Could see it going either way but I imagine there'll be some kind of further twist to this to really mix things up. It's ONE after all.
