Yeah, when I said I wanted to wait to see on Geno I wasn't talking poo poo on him, guy's having a legit good season and the Seahawks could be a fiesty wild card team (assuming they don't take the division outright). Carroll would be a solid CotY candidate if not from fierce competition from Daboll and Sirianni, among many others.

The first-year coaches in general this year are very boom-or-bust. Daboll and O'Connell have their teams in dominant form, while Lovie and Hackett are making serious arguments for one-and-done.

^yeah it’s nuts how they’ve exceeded the win total already.

Seattle’s rookie class has exceeded expectations to a comical level. Basically every pick from the first round through the fifth has been an immediately “good” player. Not just “good for a rookie”, but legitimately good.

Geno has exceeded expectations to a comical level.

Seattle has been relatively healthy.

Seattle has had a trash fire strength of schedule.

…with that said it took multiple goal line fumbles beat Denver and seattle has lost to some pretty bad teams too…

What a wild ride, mr Carroll.

It's really funny how beating Denver week 1 has dramatically improved their draft position as things stand now.

I suspect since the Giants' have faded a bit Daboll's COTY candidacy has lost some shine. Seems like if the Eagles finish strong it's gotta be Sirianni.

John Schneider should win Executive of the Year though for that trade!

AFCE bias but I feel like Saleh and McDaniel both have to strongly be in the conversation. And honestly I might take either over Sirianni, as good as the Eagles have been.

True, but the fact that the Giants will likely have a winning season with that roster is still a good argument for Daboll. Imagine how the Giants will look once they have any offensive weapons besides Barkley, let alone a real QB!

Both are also true. Hell, avoiding the sunk cost fallacy and immediately benching Wilson after refusing to take blame for his lovely play should be enough to put Saleh in the conversation, let alone getting the Jets in playoff contention.

I will throw some cold water on Seattle.... They won a few games early that were VERY lucky against denver and the lions and have only really won against lovely teams overall. They seem to be getting worse as the season goes on too. They do have alot of rookies playing well and they have been better than anyone expected but they are very giants like in the fluky nature of their season.

The wild thing about Seattle now is they've got an insane offense (ignoring QB). They've got a rookie phenom RB, a genuinely good line now that they struck gold on two rookie Tackles, and they've had two phenomenal WRs for a min now.

Slot Herbert in there and they'd be so fun. Geno's done great too, but I was just thinking that in the span of a single offseason they've constructed a genuinely great offense that just needs a long term QB.

the defense is...iffy still tho

You wonder if they're all hitting the rookie wall right about now. Which would be a shame for them, but by no means a disaster

I mean they might be coming down to earth a little, which is ok. It's a great foundation to build from.

Yeah. Assuming Geno is “actually good(tm)”, all the Seattle offense needs is a C, OG, and a solid backup WR and RB.

Defense needs a lot :( But gosh darn it Pete et al. is a great coach when it comes to DBs.

I think if Saleh’s Jets build steam to close out the season then he has a chance for Coach of the Year. It’s rad that he actually benched Zach.

The best part is thanks to Russ they'll stipl have a high draft pick they can use to draft a franchise QB, another elite player, or to trade back for a bunch of picks.

the defense is bad and teams just get stuck not running against them.

The giants would have probably beat them if they just buckled down and ran the ball straight at the defensive front. the template on how to beat them is out there if you see just the last 2 games. which is frustrating because Pete is a defensive guy.

fun ride though and its cool to see how Waldron's offense actually seems to work against not the niner teams.

The Hawks could probably stand to improve their interior OL too, we've had some trouble in some games because of poor plays and drives there. Other than that, I think the other assessments are pretty spot-on.

Greg Roman said that the Ravens deliberately run the clock down on every possession to take time away from opposing offenses, but the problem is they get up to the line with like 5 seconds to snap the ball, so he's either lying or everyone on the team is incredibly stupid.

you have to understand that's taught to minimize false starts caused by sitting at the line too long and twitching, especially on linemen. baltimore only has 8 false starts this season, tied for 4th best. greg roman needs to stay

Nobody move and nobody gets hurt.

Given that he almost took the Minnesota job last year I guess he wouldn't necessarily push for his own GM, so it might be an ideal fit in my dream "fire Ballard but promote Ed Dodds or Morocco Brown instead of bringing in somebody new" scenario. I personally find him very obnoxious, but it would be fun to break Michigan's heart right as they've gone all-in on him I suppose.
