This actually looks fun and creepy. I saw the first three episodes in a focus group about two months ago. It's actually good. I don't know if it'll be quite as good as The Boys, but it fits in the universe well, and my concerns for how it'd fit in to the universe were dealt with pretty quickly. It has similar themes as the main show, but is perhaps a little more soapy while simultaneously satirizing that genre. In a way, it's kind of like The Magicians but in The Boys' universe. I think people will like it if they like the main show.

Just binge watched the series over a couple of weeks for the first time. Really enjoyed it, though I felt Season 3 was a bit of a dip. Jumping here and seeing that they're making a spin-off series seems pretty ironic, given so much of the show seems to be lampooning Disney and the overcommercialisation of their properties to a ridiculous degree. Of course I also say this as my kid watches Spidey and his amazing friends, an attempt to indoctrinate Marvel to preschoolers by more or less copying PJ Masks with putting Marvel characters in their place. It feels straight out of the Boys universe.

Ashley and A-Train are going to guest star, though

The suit feels like a weird rubber, so I doubt you can get a ton of poses out of him, but all the head sculpts are amazing. I just gotta buy batteries for all 5. Weirdly, especially considering the cape's importance this last season, it looks kinda cheaply made. Not bad, just thin. Overall, ordered it Sunday from giant toys and got it today via DHL. Gonna make a great companion piece to my butcher.

I'm honestly just kinda wondering how much of the character will make it from the comic. I think at most Hughie is gonna poo poo in his batcave, and he might be a consistently horny guy and homelander is gonna take a peek in his head and let him know he's got a giant tumor floating around in there. Just a "what the gently caress is going on in your head? Wait I'll peek. Oh... So. I have good news and bad news..." sort of moment. I'm gonna laugh my rear end off if they have a tumor dream episode though. Him killing homelander and ruling the world or whatever.

Garth Ennis character, and The Boys as a show succeeded by taking the stuff that worked from the comics (the general cast, the overall concept, some of the vibes and jokes) and then throwing the rest in the bin where it belongs. I wouldn't be too worried.
