Pretty exciting playoff. If it's OSU-UM in the championship (unlikely) I think OSU wins it. They'll be going crazy to get revenge. OSU dropped a lot of big passes and got slapped with some huge yellow flags but nobody remembers anything except the final score.

UGA DBs better eat their Wheaties between now and NYE. Ohio State was the exact team the Dawgs didn't want to face in the semis, but here they are. UGA's a tougher team on the whole but I've already got nightmares about those WRs casually strolling through open space 40 YAC. Silly Burrito posted:If so, they need to return their 2011 fake natty. And 2017. Shoot, at least 2021 UGA won their division. And were the best team in the conference over 12 regular season games. The thing about the performative whining about UGA getting in last year is that the Dawgs were being weighed against Cincy (a try-hard G5 team who showed their rear end in the playoffs anyway), Notre Dame (1 loss, 0 quality wins) and Baylor (2 losses but a B12CG victory). Of course that UGA team was going to be ranked higher than those guys, cmon. D.N. Nation fucked around with this message at 21:24 on Dec 4, 2022 |

As a Michigan fan this is the ideal playoff scenario. And entertaining; Michigan's second half game versus TCU's comeback magic, and OSU having to face another imposing offensive line that will wear them down and a defense at least as good as the one that wrecked them last week. Now watch it be TCU/OSU.

How does the committee justify putting OSU in the playo? They don't even have any wins over top 10 opponents, according to the committee.

Ultimately there are only four 1 or 0 loss P5 teams so the committee can make all the extra notes they want but it's entirely defensible to just take them for that reason and be done with it

With Rose Bowl hope gone Alamo Bowl feels like a pretty big downgrade. Not to mention San Antonio is a pain to get to from Seattle, haven't seen any direct flights. Should still be a fun game going against Sark and Pete K.

FYI - I've always gathered that TCU is basically "christian, but only vaguely so and Actually Good" from all I've read, but Michigan also has a super-duper hard-right Business and Law side, so socialist/communist doesn't fit us either. Really looking forward to a pretty toss-up game with no real, true villains involved. Except for maybe Harbaugh tOSU is going to get their doors blown off https://twitter.com/HoracePrettyman/status/1599281619462164480

Wisconsin - Oklahoma State in the Copper Bowl. I guess Guaranteed Rate Bowl now but gently caress that, always the Copper Bowl. 9:15pm on a Tuesday night for CST, so both Wisconsin and Oklahoma. Not ideal.

D.N. Nation posted:UGA DBs better eat their Wheaties between now and NYE. Ohio State was the exact team the Dawgs didn't want to face in the semis, but here they are. I legitimately think it’s a more pure Strength v Strength match than Michigan was. I’m not convinced Georgia’s comfortable with that running game yet compared to last year or to the level that Michigan was, and we have more weird tweeners to throw at covering TEs than good corners so dealing with that passing game is potentially more favorable. Still don’t love going against Bowers but it’s legitimately more favorable than Michigan having 3-4 guys who are potential vert threats at all times. Could end up being wrong and they just gap us to death, but that offense keeps running jet/sweep action things that we can actually close down on for big plays when our issues are all B/C gap fits. Gonna be really mad if this turns into the McConkey game because we sit in man. Our offense is entirely a matter of health and if Day tries to outsmart himself. Healthy Miyan and mayyybe Treveyon opens things up a bit running. If the rumors that JSN is back for a playoff run are real, that allows them to actually run the offense as intended in the preseason. Our right guard might actually get healthy for the first time this year. None of this matters if Ryan Day looks at his team and goes “we are going to throw to Stover because they’re going to double Harrison or Egbuka every play” and watch our lumbering TE drop everything. He does well when he has time to gameplan but please throw to your first round receivers and not your converted LB/TE hybrid.
