The Pirates have a top 5 farm system and have already graduated Hayes and Cruz. The owner sucks but if Cherington plays his cards right with Reynolds, he's got the Pirates set up as well as they can be considering that the owner sucks.

Hey Man does PR for owners, Ken Rosenthal does it for the league/Commissioner, Peter Gammons does it for Boston, and Bob Nightengale does it for Bizzaro World.

Didn't Kenny get fired from MLBN for writing mean things about Manfred?

Yeah, over rightfully mentioning that owners wanted fewer games than the players in 2020. Not enough fealty I guess, and it was a huge unforced error going into CBA negotiation season since prior to that he was their human trial balloon.

Yeah the farm is completely shot in terms of high ranked prospects after the Lunhow years of big trades and the Lunhow years of other things affecting the farm.

Have to rely on FA signings and player development which has worked out wonderfully over the last 3 seasons.

I really want to include Randy Johnson. But I think, narrative-wise, you get a good cross-section of baseball history through the major mature periods.

If pressed I'd probably include Speaker, Cobb, Wagner, Hornsby, and Walter Johnson, but... well. Bonds is a terrible enough person.

It doesn't make any sense unless they're about to sell the team.

Butt first, let's
check the feeds.

They broke the curse and won a bunch and beefed up the stadium and poo poo. So now they can just do whatever, have ups and downs, let favs go, and it’s all house money so whatever. And if the fanbase ever gets mad at stops coming it will be time to sell.

At least I assume that’s the deal.

yeah that just didn't make sense, Contreras/d'Arnaud with Piña filling in is totally reasonable, no reason to trade arms or whatever else you'll definitely need more of unless you think you can absolutely fleece the A's for Murphy
