The neuralink scam is great because even if they managed to actually fully interface the circuits with the brain, what good would a computer be that would fit in the skull and would have minimal power/heat requirements? At best you'd be risking your health with a surgery and implant to have... a lovely smartphone built in? I'm not even anti transhumanist, it's just that elon is cribbing a device from a Sci fi series because it sounds cool. It's a giant dead end. The research into giving blind people sight or deaf people hearing is far more valuable than whatever elon is trying

I read something about how this investment would be far better spent on advancing cochlear implants, something that already works well just needs more miniaturization and easier ways to interface it to the person.

but Musky isnt deaf, why would he help deaf people? also I always want to know what Musk and his muskrats would even do on Mars that they cant do one earth or other near by space (orbit or moon)? like there's several news articles about rear end in a top hat tesla drivers driving into national parks, driving off trail / damaging poo poo and then getting struck and needing rescue all because they wanting to watch porn or binge watch netflix

But anyway, just proves Mush has never had an original idea is his life. He expressed no public concern over his safety until somebody else said it first. If you got a couple hundred tweets telling him ohmygod you're in danger boy, you could probably drive him to retreat into a private compound with a 20 year supply of code, tissues boxes and piss bottles.
