Las Vegas, NV

Let's address the elephant in the room.
This isn't going to be another one of those woke hoorah threads.
I don't journal, ice bathe, or use red light therapy.
I'm not saying those things don't work.
I just prefer taking action.
Here's how I do it

I wake up at about 4 or 5AM.
From there I don't check email or social media.
Instead, I grab a cup of coffee, and get to my deep work.
This lasts for a couple of hours.
I typically focus on the hardest/most important stuff first.

Then I hit the gym.
Sometimes I'll listen to relevant podcasts/audio books.
Others I just rock out to some music.
After about an hour or so, I head back to work (no shower).

For the rest of the work day, I'm on calls.
Most of them are internal with my team—
But I'll have the occasional client call.

Once I'm done with work, I meet up with Alex.
Most nights we eat out.
This saves us a ton of time.
And allows us to decompress.

That's it about it...
That's my "insane" daily routine.
It's insanely boring.
But, if you want to get poo poo done...
There are no shortcuts/hacks.
You just have to do the work.

lol After about an hour or so, I head back to work (no shower).

Starting by talking about woke bugmen and then mentioning that she doesn't shower, eats out every night to "decompress" and considers listening to podcasts and "relevant audiobooks" work is very lol

Her biography seems "off".

quote:

Leila Hormozi is a first generation Iranian-American entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. In 2015, Leila moved to Orange County, California to start a career in fitness. Within a year of moving, she was the top selling personal trainer within the region, and kept that status for the remainder of her tenure. Within a year, she met Alex, and accompanied him on his 4th turnaround, and each turnaround thereafter. From there on, the two were inseparable.

After the turnaround business experience, they packaged his process into a licensing model which scaled to over 4000+ locations in 4 years. Over that same four year period, she founded and scaled three other companies to $120M+ in cumulative sales across four different industries (software, service, e-commerce, and brick & mortar) without taking on outside capital.

After that, she ascended to a board position in each of her companies, allowing her the time to co-found Acquisition.com which acts as the holding company for all her business ventures, which at present are responsible for over $85,000,000 in yearly revenue across a variety of industries.

Leila is known for her expertise in scaling businesses through flexible infrastructures and creating management systems that create wonderful places to work, and performance to match.

She donates much of her free time to advancing equal access to education and encouraging entrepreneurship in underprivileged communities.

Some people, not me though of course, but some people might say she was a loving trainer who hooked up with a rich guy at an Orange County gym and has convinced herself that she's a self-made millionaire.

quote:

Alex Hormozi is a first-generation Iranian-American entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. In 2013, he started his first brick & mortar business. Within three years, he successfully scaled his business to six locations. He then sold his locations to transition to the turnaround business. From there he spent two years turning 32+ brick & mortar businesses around using the same model that made his privately owned locations successful.

After that experience, he packaged his process into a licensing model which scaled to over 4000+ locations in 4 years. Over that same four-year period, he founded and scaled three other companies to $120M+ in cumulative sales across four different industries (software, service, e-commerce, and brick & mortar) without taking on outside capital. He has scaled and exited 7 companies. His most notable exit was his majority sale of his licensing company for $46.2M in 2021.

He transitioned from CEO to the owner/shareholder position in these companies in 2020, and founded Acquisition.com as a way to invest his own wealth (both monetary and intellectual capital) into other businesses. The portfolio is based on his investment thesis focusing on asset-light, high cash flow, sales-focused service and digital products businesses.

Alex graduated from Vanderbilt University Magna Cum Laude in three years with a BS in Human & Organizational Development with a focus on Corporate Strategy. He worked as a management consultant for a boutique strategy firm for two years after graduating before starting his first business.

This whole Acquisition.com thing seems like bullshit. There's way too much free money floating around the economy.

His book seems to support this thesis: https://a.co/d/2l285MR

"I took home more in a year than the CEOs of McDonalds, IKEA, Ford, Motorola, and Yahoo….combined….as a kid in my twenties….using the $100M Offer method. It works. And it will work for you."

Yes, he’s a loving liar.

I always do major turnarounds in the 100s of millions and don’t name the actual business or even the industry they are in.

“Boutique consulting firm” means self employed. What’s the name? Who are the clients?

Someone in their 20’s who can actually do this would be world famous, just incredible business talent.

The reason her schedule is so light is she met a dude at the gym with generational wealth but you can’t just be a rich house wife these days.

There are no actual businesses to run. It’s cosplay.

Frosted Flake posted:

A major current in this specifically for veterans is that more Canadians have died of suicide since the war than died in Afghanistan. This was a major embarrassment to the government but they had no intention of actually doing or fixing anything, so they put out this narrative that the tragedy was that the suicides were done the wrong way, if that makes sense, and so the good, humane, enlightened thing was to provide MAID. You see? Suicide is déclassé, "self medication", whereas MAID prioritizes patient autonomy and relief of suffering. Those patients weren't crying out for help, they were crying out for death, and simply needed access to affordable suicide.

It's coming from a place that they've already chosen to die by virtue of being suicidal, and so the right thing to do is to respect their autonomy and relieve them of their suffering the right way.

I don't know how to really explain this kind of moral posturing to people who haven't run into Canadian liberals, but they have truly taken the stance that this makes them better than Americans. It's why it's basically impossible to argue with them.

This would have also been the answer from U.S. libs (and may still be).

poo poo, I'd forgotten all about the right-to-die stuff once Kevorkian croaked. I probably would not have had a stance on it if you'd asked me a couple years ago because Kevorkian would be the only thing I could pull from on it. Now all this Canada poo poo got me pretty firmly in the no camp

Although I will note capitalist hellscape America has this in several states and as far as I know this twisted poo poo hasn't happened in them yet.

You run a business that’s not doing so hot, I come on as a consultant and tell you how to fix it.

It’s actually quite hard to do, lots of businesses are just hosed (wrong product, wrong leadership, wrong market, consumer tastes changed, etc).

Think of Steve Jobs coming back to Apple and turning them into a consumer products company because he could clearly see how the computer industry was going to change.

Turning around somebody’s hardware store or ice cream shop to make it profitable is perfectly fine but it’s not on the $100MM level.

Right to die is a pretty nice concept at least in theory, but it needs to be only by patient request and behind a wall of serious talks with medical and psychiatric professionals. In broad terms, it should only be available for people in chronic pain or incurably and painful diseases, possibly also for dementia patients, but that's more tricky ethically.
Being poor is very treatable though, and the horror stories from Canada tells me that our capitalist societies are not ready yet.

“There are two types of people.

Those who make decisions by aggression, and those who make decisions by omission.

Meaning, we either make a decision and see it through with action, or we choose not to choose anything at all and the decision is, by default, made for us.

Either way, a decision will be made and the PAIN OF CHANGE will be paid.

In other words, you're either going to be uncomfortable staying the same OR uncomfortable changing.

The question is - is this pain bringing you closer to the life you want?

Or further away?

IMO - if you're going to feel it regardless, you might as well make it worth it.

Short-term comfort only leads to long-term dysfunction.”

“If you want to fast-track your success in your twenties...

I'd recommend increasing the collective experience of the people that you surround yourself with. But, most people get this wrong.

Here's how I did it then:

I didn’t look for ONE mentor.
I looked for a mentor for each area of my life.

What a lot of people do is find one person.
I call this “Hairstylist Syndrome”

When you get your hair cut, you ask for their advice on life.
And before you know it—
Your whole life looks like your hairstylist’s life.

What you don’t want to do is ask ONE person how to do everything.
Instead, find a specialist in each area of your life:

- Finance
- Fitness
- Business
- Health
- Love

Not sure what mentor to start with?
Ask yourself this question:

“What area if my life makes me the most uncomfortable?”

If it’s your finances and start with that.
If it’s your relationship, start with that.

Hope this helps :)
