If Judge walks there’s no way the Yankees break it up and rebuild. You give Rodon whatever he wants and try and strengthen your defense and pitching to compensate and hope Stanton stays healthy enough to do the rest. Then probably try and make a big run at Ohtani next year. But you can’t punt a season. And it’s not just fans or tickets. You’ve got too many veterans under contract to waste a year. And it’s baseball. If you make the playoffs who knows what happens? Judge went cold this October, Stanton could get hot next. Who knows?
