It is no sign of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society.
Man you can really see the years they had the B team on that. Wonder if it tracks to album sales/ general popularity at any given time.

Yes, and using them on any subspecies of pig is animal cruelty. It creates undue suffering, and worse than the slow agonising death that comes if the animal actually dies, it is extremely likely that the animal disappears while only being wounded and now faces an even slower even more agonising demise from infection - all while having one or several open bullet wounds. It can take days.
Pigs are very very hard animals, and it's downright amoral to not use the biggest caliber you can handle for them. Then shot placement is another, deeper, conversation with as many amoral practitioners to attack there.
If you're going to kill animals, the singular basic requirement has to be that you respect them enough to not make them suffer. But that's somehow an unrealistic utopia in some legislatures

Ethical hunting is very important. You can also reliably kill hogs with a 5.56 without causing all the drama you wrote out. Pigs aren't mythical creatures.

What's funny is hog lore is the most exaggerated amongst hunters. Every crazy Super Pig story I've heard has been (second hand) from a serious hunter. They can fly F-16s!

And using a large energetic calibre is good. But using a small risky calibre is bad.

Anyone doing the latter makes me angry and I hope it does others as well, if they agree with hunting at all in the first place ofc, which is very understandable to not do. All I'm saying.

Read a book, go on the internet, or ask another person you know “how do you do [thing]?”

Yeah, I learned how to ride a bike at age 24, I didn't learn growing up, then I was in situation where riding a bike would make my life a bazillion times simpler than driving a car or just walking, so I had a friend with a bike show me the basics and then rode every day. I lived at the top of a very steep hill at the time, so for like a month or two I would have to walk the bike the last few blocks.

I was then able to spend the next decade working jobs that were a five minute bike ride away. It was awesome. Now I have to drive a car to work and it sucks.

True but you ain’t eating wild hog. Hogs are a fun way to have a legitimate reason for absurdly high powered ordinance vs the, you know, usual reason for getting it. We’ve got a 300 Magnum that will blow the b loving Jesus out of a hog and that thing is a hoot to shoot. It’ll dislocate your shoulder if you’re not careful but it’ll also reduce most anything you point it at to a mist pretty quickly. Perfect for hogs traveling in lightly armored vehicles.

Edible, but potentially hazardous and not as good as commercial pork. Most folks I know that have been eating wild hog for years have had at least one bout of brucellosis.

In general, I leave dead hogs where they lay, throw them in the gut pile with unusable parts of deer, or if I have shot several we usually can find a family in that area that is glad to take them.

The deer processing place my father loves up in Petal MS made a deal with him where any hogs he got, he'd turn into sausage and take half of it as his fee.
