I can't remember which PYF thread it was that had the bit about british pronunciations of american/mexican food, but I just heard an ad in the supermarket for "chew-ross" and had a little aneurysm. Almost as bad as when my job sent me to do a job for "tuh-sing-taow"

I only knew Tsingtao right away because back when we were just dating my wife had a Tsingtao dragon decoration she got from her brother when he worked as a beer distributor

Chew-ross bugs me more because it's a clear misunderstanding of the fact that it's a plural. One churro, many churros. The english also get pretty stubborn about saying paella wrong. Saying "Tsingtao" wrong is more understandable because the "ts" phoneme isn't really a thing in English, especially not at the start of words.

The one that gets me is when they'll apply some other language's rules to Spanish, like saying "choritzo" for chorizo as though it were Italian or something.

First of May posted:ew, beets Pickled beets are actually great on the right kind of burger, I wouldn't want them on a normal beef burger, but if it's the sort where they just mash a couple slices of pork roast in between the buns, then the pickled beets go pretty well with the experience.

CannonFodder posted:Hardee's tried the big fried cheese puck a few years ago. It's something that sounds like a great idea but just doesn't work in real life. Either the cheese is solid and bad or liquid and "burn your mouth" hot. And if it's liquid then half of the cheese burns your mouth, the other half shoots out the back of the burger. I laced cheese through my burger (Slice the normal cheese slice into thin sticks, adding these to your ground beef as you mold it into a patty) a few times and it worked, but not well. LifeSunDeath posted:https://v.redd.it/f5h06g2r5j4a1/DASH_1080.mp4 Okay, okay, not bad, not bad, not bad, looks all right, okay that might be a bit much, you can stop now, aaand it's inedible, as in physically incapable of being eaten
