Ideally he follows the books up through 5 or 6 and then diverges with the excuse that (very big spoilers)it's a different (the last?) cycle kinda like the lovely movie did by having him with the Horn As it stands large portions of the last 3 would be incoherent/unfilmable as written anyhow, and Wizard and Glass would kill the pacing of a series and have the main cast sitting on their hands for like a year while it got filmed which seems likely why he's talking about having 2 films to wrap things up. And yes I've thought about this a lot, perhaps too much. The Dark Tower series holds a special place in my family since it's like the one series my entire family has read through and discussed to death as it was releasing

Wizard and Glass would definitely gently caress with the pacing, in that the fourth of seven books is a flashback to the main character's teenage years, but, it's also the best book, so they can't just like skip it. Gotta make it into a spinoff prequel movie or something. You can't just cheat and make it season 1 either because The Gunslinger is a really good in-medias-res opener and the beginning point of the timeloop

can someone please help me set up a movie list for the family holidays - movie cannot be "woke" - no more than 10 "f-bombs" - movie cannot be "too pagan" (sorry Northman) - movie is allowed to be made by a black person or woman, but not if they are annoying - nudity is fine, but no sex with parts! pure and honorable marital sex is a plus - no movie older than ten years unless it still has "good graphics" - unambiguous morality is a plus (i.e. good vs. evil); the bad guys cannot be the U.S. military thank you and god bless

I'm only half-joking too  to their credit, I've shown them some movies that are a little "out there" (relatively speaking!) such as Drive, Ex Machina, and Phantom Thread, and they really enjoyed them. I even showed them The Last Duel and it was good, despite the grim subject matter. it can vary. it's just that when there are lots of bad words and sex, or preachy politics, the chances get lower
