Yeah nah get hosed this was a human decision that was made deliberately in the knowledge that it would incorrectly calculate debts and which was patently obvious through its extremely long period of deployment.

yeah, pretty much. Humans create the algorithm, so there is inherent human bias in it. If the algorithm is created by psychopaths with no regard for the pain its going to cause, its going to cause pain.

all the vegetables just touching the trolley bother me

Yes I agree, the veg that was trucked in to a market open shelf only gets dirty once it's lifted off the shelf and put somewhere else. It doesn't get stuff on it before that time, via magic. This magic stops the stuff from other shoppers trolley handles and hands when they're picking through the veg. I never wash veg before eating.

A crime scene has been declared after six people, including two police officers, were shot dead during a siege at a property in Queensland's Western Downs.

Four Queensland police officers had gone to the property in Wieambilla, west of Brisbane, on Monday afternoon to investigate a missing persons case from New South Wales.

As they approached, two officers — a man and a woman — were shot by two armed offenders, and a member of the public was also shot and killed.

The alleged offenders — two men and a woman — were then shot and killed by police late last night.

Hey any electricians or the electrician-adjacent in the thread?

Our house has a room in it off the lounge room that has zero powerpoints in it. I would like to get some installed but I was wondering if there is anything structure related that would prevent a room from having powerpoints installed. This room shares a wall with the neighbouring unit (it's a build of 4 units total: two side by side with a unit on top of each.)

It depends on the structure of the wall etc and where you can bring power from. If it's a timber stud frame, it's doable but depends where you're bringing power from as you'll likely have to run it through a bunch of studs or around them. Alternatively run it through the wall gap and bring it down in the position you want it.

Sounds dodgy as gently caress.
Do any of the walls in the dodgy room have a powerpoint on the other side? If so it would be trivial.
Are any of the walls in the dodgy room double-brick? If so it would be easy for a sparky to fish a new circuit.
