I never understood who these people were that used electric razors on the go. That hair's gotta go somewhere, and you're gonna want to wash your face after you shave it. But ads often showed dudes using them in the car and poo poo.

The Philips/Norelco ones with rotating cutters don't make a lot of mess - as long as you shave daily, all hair 'dust' just ends up in the little compartment that the cutters sit in. You just empty that later when you can brush it clean somewhere.
Can't speak for other styles of shaver
It's a convenient system but my skin never agreed with the way they shaved.

That said, if he isn't careful, he'll still get a bunch of dust on his slides and everyone will know who made the CEO's sales figure slides all hairy and speckle-y

If you’re using an electric razor you’re gonna get ingrown hairs on your face and neck. Maybe more of a 70s thing but I remember going to my grandparents’ house and in the bathroom mirror cabinet he’d always have an old school razor in which you replace the blades, a styptic pencil for nicks, and a bottle of Old Spice

Maybe i should get a bottle of Old Spice

I may still hate shaving, but once you get the hang of using one of those safety razors often, it becomes really easy.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, I started shaving every other day, and I couldn't imagine shaving any other way now. Electrics never seemed to work right for me, and the multi-bladed monstrosities would destroy my face and bank account.

Lol, supposedly the footage right after this where they show the Chicago freeways is footage borrowed from National Lampoons vacation and you can see the family truckster if you squint hard enough

Damn it, this always happens. I think I'm gonna score, and then I never score. It's not fair.

It's pretty easy to spot when you know where to look. 10 second mark of this video:

The scene from National Lampoon's Vacation that it's taken from isn't on YouTube, but IIRC it's early in the movie when they are first leaving Chicago and the kids are listening to Blitzkrieg Bop.

It is as Blitzkreig Bop starts playing, but the scene in the movie seems to be a different take. It's at a slightly different angle and the traffic is different.

Married with Children probably contributed to my early confusion about sex.

"Oh it's not good for him when she wants it. Because... It's work? Or he's bored? But also it's bad for her when he wants it because he's a perv. Or wants too much? But sometimes they both want it and are excited? And also Bud can't get it because he's gross or something and they say that Kelly does a lot of it but it doesn't seem like she does?"

Seattle's independent radio station has been celebrating each year they've been on the air and dedicating whole days to various ones. There must have been bad music released that year too, but they just did three solid hours of 1988 music that all owned so maybe not

Yes, heart-themed iconography is Satanic. Unlike the Christians, with their loving symbol of a torture/execution device.

Christians, the original "but it's ironic."

Media peaked at the flexi disc

Sure, 20 years later you had pack in cds, but nothing topped flipping through a magazine and suddenly there's a playable single you didn't even know was in there when you bought it

We had this poster in our den—which later became my room—and when I was little I had no idea what it was (I don’t recall there being an “Atari Club” logo on it). By the time I did know, the poster became rather dilapidated and I was pretty bummed about it. I’m still pretty bummed about it tbh, it’d be a rad addition to my basement along with the Mad Max-style Daft Punk portraits that I have.
