Therapy is real but if it hasn't helped in a year or so it's probably not gonna happen unless you see a really good therapist ($$$$$) or you're seeing a really bad one already (most of them)

there is good medication to take if you are an alcoholic but want to drink normally rather than stop drinking altogether, however, if you are not taking meds it is probably wiser to shun alcohol altogether

the only one that really works imo is disulfiram, which works by poisoning you. acamprosate and naltrexone don’t help that much.

I’m really glad to hear! i’ve never talked to anyone else who used it and it did nothing, which seemed to align with other stuff I read online.

specifically it was the sinclair method that was helpful, natlrexone + total abstinence doesn't seem like it would do much except make you feel depressed lol
