I don't really care about playing FPSs multiplayer. I'm not good enough to outclass the AI on higher levels, so I just play solo vs the computer. The only reason that I played TF2 against others was because what little bots existed were miserable, and not surprisingly I eventually became tired of people's horseshit and quit. Partly it was due to the usual arseholes who play anonymous online games, partly it was because the player base plummeted, but largely it was because of the remaining players deciding to only play six maps in one game mode or do nothing but collect hats for a game that they don't actually play. That's why I don't bother with fully MP games anymore - if other people decide to stop playing it, I'm forced to stop playing even if I still enjoy the game for itself so I don't see why I should get invested. They're up to like 1500 games now and now I can play Hardspace and Snowrunner and none of the free games I got from this thread because I have principles or something
