The Oaks neutral bay is probably what you want if by North Sydney you mean the actually suburb and not the general area north of the harbour. The greens bowling club nearby is also good on a sunny afternoon.

I typically just refer to it as the broader bracket of "welfare" if I'm having a serious discussion about it but colloquially and especially when I'm referring to the year or so I spent on it I just call it the dole still but I get that after the 90s dole bludger media line its a bit pejorative so its contextual imo
