don’t feel like you can’t talk to someone about it, if you’re not used to it seeing someone die it can take a few days to really start to affect some people, and even then healthcare workers eventually break down too

I have a brother who took seizures and went into a coma for several months, just about 6 months before covid happened. If such a thing were to happen to him now he would likely die. My sister broke her ankle when she was out jogging last summer and was in the A&E waiting room for twelve hours.

The NHS used to be the envy of the world. So many idiots can't put two and two together and blame the shambles it's in on foreigners or some other bullshit rather than over a decade of deliberate underfunding.

I think i need to take a break, i see posts like this and i just can't stop ranting that we should guillotine every oval office who went to a private school.

The absolute scum in the press who stood by and watched while their jolly old school chums raped this country.

They all went to jolly old public school and then off to jolly old oxford. Half of them are on the take the other half are sniveling spineless bootlicking cowards.

God i hate them, a curse on them and their children and their children's children.

Sorry for the rant i just..... i just wish there was something to be done but the loving tory bastards own everything and they are just demons in human skin.

I'm actually more inclined to think that most people have seen so little collective action improving their lives and so consistent a decline in social expectations that most people probably do think something like 'it's poo poo and it's supposed to be poo poo' whenever they come into contact with something like the NHS. Corbynism was so thoroughly shown to have no place in contemporary British society everyone either has to become violently radical in terms of their ideology without any obvious radical movement to join up with or just give up and try and isolate themselves from any harms.

I think it's like the frog in a pot being slowly risen to a boil. It's just gradually gotten worse over 12 years. Part of me likes to think if the Tories had managed to do all this in 1-2 years there would be more of an uproar. The cynic in me doubts that.

I blame the (lack of) anarchists, they used to be all about assassinating figureheads with improvised weaponry and yet now where are they? At least when they were killing Tsars and ministers then the socialists could be the sensible radicals for people to join.

Nowadays all we have is compromised unions, academic Marxists and Trot organisations which are full of old people who are at best retired and very boring and at worst covering up abuse scandals. The XR-Just Stop Oil radical stuff is almost painful in how the class apparently needs to learn all the old lessons about power and revolution the old way of doing all the wrong things first rather than there being something good and popular enough to skip over it all.

Actually I'm being too negative here, new groups and attempts of all sorts are appearing all the time and the history of all successful radicalism is a chronicle of failure but it's still annoying!

the junior dr strikes were the canary in the coal mine , but i suppose that generation has now mostly risen up to consultant level and seems to have kicked out much of the old boy network just in the bma for gongs

Most of them have probably quit or moved to other fields. There's a massive shortage of consultants in the UK which is causing all kinds of knock on effects, especially the hospitals I work in.

Had to take Mrs ghosts gran to the hospital yesterday and I don't think I've seen such support for a strike. Just constant beeping outside for the nurses from every car. When the dockers were on strike round here a few weeks ago you'd get people rolling the window down to call them greedy bastards etc but people like nurses and probably know at least one so it's harder for the government to just lie about why they're striking

hopefully they get what they want (they will not but it's nice to think so)

The frog in a pot thing is a common misconception. Frogs will jump out of the water as soon as the temperature is outside their comfort zone and not consistently vote for the oval office who keeps turning up the stove.
