Tesla is basically just keeping afloat and preventing drowning on brand identity and "luxury" perks now. They had a 10-year head start on all the other automakers in terms of EVs, but they pretty much blew it. Tesla aren't the only EVs and they aren't the cheapest EVs anymore. The gap is only going to get narrower. The 2023 Chevy Bolt and Nissan Leaf just came out recently and are both around $28k for the base models. They also have door handles. Unless Tesla finally hits the major promises of radical new tech that they have been saying they were 1-year away from for the last 7 years, then they are going to end up an also-ran.

I'm in cleantech and literally a big part of my job is tracking EVs / distributed solar / energy storage and everyone I know went from super wanting a Tesla in 2016 to hating them now. My old boss from 5 years ago had a Tesla and now he loving hates owning a Tesla it's pretty funny.

The ReVanced Project (https://github.com/reisxd/revanced-builder/wiki/How-to-use-revanced-builder-on-Android) lets you patch the Twitter APK among others to run on an unrooted system without ads (although you have to trust the project), but the process is kinda complicated and you have to do it yourself, so your mileage may vary on how worth it it is. (Also works on some other social media apps, most notably YouTube.) I was using it before I dumped my personal Twitter account and it worked decently.

nothing in a car should be on a screen. everything should be knobs and gizmos. having as many points of failure for critical information instead of just one is just way, way better. everything should be able to be understood entirely through touch so the driver can make changes without looking. screens. should. not. be. in cars--the one exception being a backup or blindspot camera. that's it.
