well it's certainly a different play for the jets. i do not think it's reasonable to out and out call it stupid or packers fan or whatever. it's a pretty clear thing: if you believe that the jets are at least a playoff win roster aside from qb (i do) then airdropping aaron rodgers into it makes it a super bowl caliber team. so do you want to do what the rams did, and eyes-open mortgage the future for a win now? i think that's an interesting question. i accept that the answer might be "no", but it's not insane for it to be "yes" either

Even if this is all true Rodgers completely controls the situation. If he wants to play for the Jets (something I doubt) the Packers have like zero leverage to get a package like that.

I think if you make a Rams-like gamble at QB I'd go for Lamar (long-term) or Tom (recent playoff success/more recent ring) over Rodgers. I see why you'd want him, but to me and for those reasons there's options I'd like better, and with less "does he Want to be there" questions attached to them

i want tom on the jets for precisely that reason but it does seem like maayyybe a gamble too far. i think someone will make that gamble and he'll still be better than broncos-era peyton but it's a real tough ask

Sports is supposed to be fun. I don't want to root for a piece of poo poo on my team if i can avoid it. I didn't want Correa on the yankees and I don't want Brady on the jets. I don't care if I'm giving up wins.

Brady is a bad QB now. Not even a Dalton line guy, he loving sucks and your team is loving stupid if they bring him in.

He does bring an incredible horse shoe up his rear end luck that might balance out the Jets curse and allow them to have a normal season though?

Brady is barely in any of the top 10 of passing stats, except for Completions/Attempts (leads in both) and yards (4th). He's 14th in TDs. His QB Rating is between Mariota and Stafford. If anyone should be under the microscope that Tua was last year about yards after catch, it's Brady.

Agreed. gently caress Brady. I would be varying levels of happy/content with Rodgers, Carr, or Jimmy G. Also keeping my options open depending on how Mike White plays the next couple of weeks.

Any scenario where Brady came back to any team in the afc east would be massively funny due to mental anguish but here’s my specific ranking:

1. Jets - you can put it in biblical terms, a feared and hated god deigning to lift up unbelievers to show his true power and in parallel making his former followers hate him. You could put it in terms that shall we say rhyme with current trends in pornography which I shall not delve further into to protect the sensibilities of my readers. But having Tom Brady come and win a ring with the jets is like a top 3 funniest sports moment

2. Patriots - with or without belichick, the prodigal son returning just when you thought he was dead and stepping on the necks of hapless division mates (bills no longer included) once more, like prying their fingers from the top of the cliff, is just an absolutely perfect image. The ideal thing to send fans of 31 nfl teams into 11/10 mad in absolute synchrony

3. Dolphins - fine I guess. Who cares about the dolphins. Probably the easiest path tho

If Josh Allen can’t get out of the AFC this year maybe it’s time for the Bills to look for a proven winner?

I agree that Brady to the AFC East would own but I'm working off the assumption that he's cooked and it'd be really funny to watch it close up.

Like when Revis returned to the Jets but 100x more bombastic.

Why do you think that Dolphins fans hate Brady any less than jets fans? They don't want him either despite what their shithead owner did.

But also no team in the division has a top 3 OL so he'd sooner visit his children than return.

They beat him more often when he was in the division so I assume they don’t have quite the same complex
