X-Men 2 was better than X-Men 1 DOFP was better than First Class (treating this era as a semi-reboot of the original trilogy) Spider-Man 2 better than Spider-man 1 Superhero films doing 'better'/'as good' with their first sequel seems to a better than 50% average. Though, it's a massive drop in quality when they ARE worse than the first film.

I enjoyed the straddling of timeframes and the arc with Fredo but it has been a loooong time since I've seen it. I forgot about Empire but honestly Star Wars was never something i was heavy into.

This is a good one too but it still hits that Alien/Aliens thing where the first movie and the second are so tonally different it sometimes feels unfair to compare. Khan is better you are correct
