If you play Skyrim VR, at least use VRIK, the throwing mod and Realms of Whatever. Those are the main three and you can add more if you want. I can't imagine sitting through that loving cart in VR, or playing the game without seeing my body and being able to throw poo poo everywhere.

I'm sure I enabled that because steam has an awful tagging system, so even non porn games would get caught up in that. For example: The recent game I played with the sexual content was Skyrim VR

yeah but if you don't opt in you miss out on some great games that have the tag, like...uh, conan exiles I think? why the gently caress does that first one cost as much as a new release console AAA title does it come with a gimmick controller or something efb: and resident evil? this is about the giant lady isn't it

Then we delude ourselves that this is somehow reducing profits for the company. Meta doesn't own Vacation Simulator, the devs set the price Like yeah I get that the referral stuff is about trying to increase sales and get more people to buy stuff but it also definitely costs them money to do so on the whole, Steam certainly isn't giving those referrals

I can't resist repeating that the dirty secret of built-in diopter adjustments is that they do not actually eliminate the need for lens inserts for many people (despite the ad copy bragging otherwise). Anyway, Razer (working with ResMed, whose whole business depends on facial interfaces and head straps) is coming out with aftermarket Quest head straps. Check it out:

Does anyone know how Sony is using eye tracking but still keeping fresnel lenses with the PSVR2? It seems to me that you would avoid looking around with your eyes due to everything outside the sweet spot in the middle being blurry.

Yeah the modpack I installed via Wabbajack has all this in place, I had a real oh poo poo moment spawning into the floating space realm that replaces the cart-start and having one of the NPCs walk past and me still figuring the controls on the handsets reaching out and grabbing their arm as they walked past, them stopping, looking directly at me 'How can I help you stranger?' I felt quite rude The Alyx-like gravity pickup of stuff on tables is so much more fun than just 'Press (A) to Take' and being able to do the same to armor directly off the bodies of fallen foes was unexpected to say the least, them modders are some ingenious folks.

So, 2022 was a very hard year on me and as a result I ordered the Pico 4. It arrives at the store tomorrow morning and the clerk said that it should go well with the free games. Said when I download the app, it should still get me the free games, but no promises. Oh well. I was thinking back and forth about it for so long that I might have missed the chance for the free games, but it is what it is. Anyhow, I want to connect the Pico to the PC. Last I heard about it, it was recommended to get a Y-adapter to split the USB cable into audio and video. Is that still the case? Or has a better practice emerged?

Just use a single decent cable, I’ve never heard this Y-splitter thing. Also don’t worry about the free games, you just need to register the device which just means logging in with a Pico account. The phone thing is more about just making setup easier than a free game thing because then you’ll already have your details sorted and can just put in your email and password and get going immediately. And by get going I mean download a big system update as is new console tradition.

I would prefer if they use the RE4 model, or taking a good game from 11-15 years ago and using it as a base. Turin Turambar fucked around with this message at 17:51 on Jan 6, 2023 |

NoneMoreNegative posted:I'm guessing this is the FO4FEVR modlist? Yeah that’s the modlist. Highly recommend scrolling down to the Notes section and grabbing the alternative build with the 2k texture pack if you have a 3xxx series GPU (or even a 2xxx if you plan on going the OpenComposite/XR Toolkit route). Keep in mind that the latest OpenComposite build doesn’t work with FO4 so you’ll need to get the previous version and drop the DLL in the game folder. I ended up disabling the virtual holsters. They’re a nice idea but the implementation just isn’t there yet imo. The holsters move around a lot which is pretty disastrous in a firefight - especially with how the mod tries to be realistic and force you to reholster your current weapon before grabbing a new one. Edit: also I have a 7z backup of the flatscreen DLC that works in VR if anyone needs it and can point me to a good host for a dozen gigs or so. So dumb that Bethesda didn’t include it in their full price VR port. Leathal fucked around with this message at 18:54 on Jan 6, 2023 |

Alyx has been the only game I ever played that I felt got throwing items feeling "right". Wonder how many others out there do well but I just haven't tried. I never tried the Hitman VR mod but I always liked the concept it had of separating the aiming from the physical throw in what sounds like a natural way: Cue up a throw by holding an object and "cocking" your throwing arm, and point your non-throwing arm forward. Aim with the non-throwing hand, and launch the throw however you like (overhand, underhand, sidearm, whatever) with the other. Wonder how well it worked in practice.

What I'm worried about is that the marketing campaign goes until 6/1, which is today. But I won't have the headset in my hand until 7/1 and the shop said it'll probably alright with redeeming the free stuff until 10/1, but that's a bit sketchy.
