I'm an insufferable shitposter who does not deserve to root for such a good team. Also, this is what Matt Harvey thinks of me and my garbage posting.

Also it probably wasn't said like an after-school special either with a slow zoom-in. I'm sure it was more off the cuff which would make it significantly less cheesy.

And also, just, this week, the Bills get to make Bill Belichick cry sad tears of sadness as they demonstrate his team is decidedly mid-tier at best. And I think that's just something beautiful we can all support.

I want so bad to see his reaction to finding out about his charity and the outpouring of support he's received. That's going to be so surreal for him.

Yeah this is what I want to see. Get told the news that you now have all the money to help kids that you could ever need, and then some. Still insanely curious to see what he does with an expanded scope.

Anyway, this is the best news to wake up to, that he's not just conscious but even has language faculties and enough motor control already to write short, legible messages. That's all incredibly positives signs to him being able to resume a normal life.

I'm glad things are turning out okay. :unsmith:

The one I can compartmentalize into an cold, singular event and the other is a personal window into one man's tragedy. Plus I've long been fascinated by the engineering and problem solving of the whole thing.

Yeah, we've pretty much reached a point where pilot error is largely the only cause. Barring freight operation and general aviation, which are very different.

some more details on what happened came out of that doctor's press conference -->

That’s good and it sounds like they got pulses back after one defib—so probably no sustained compressions. One “round” of CPR is typically 2min then you compress for another 2min after a shock is delivered before a pulse check. Then time to sit while BP and HR stabilize, secure airway, sedate, anti arrhythmics as necessary.

Timeline really makes sense with that.

It's a tangent but the recent 737 Max MCAS crashes were definitely not just pilot error. (This is where someone will chime in to say if the pilots had immediately known what was happening and reacted perfectly then they wouldn't have crashed.)

The pilots do share more blame on the second crash where they left the throttles at take off thrust but that doesn’t change too much about how unsafe the systems as designed were.
