an easy way to check this is if you pull up the steam window and the play button says “running” or whatever, steam’s counting it

I've been playing tomb raider from 2013 - good game, but it feels a bit misery porny, I'll still clear it - i see there's a lot of multiplayer achievements, fair to guess that there's no one playing these days?

Also tried 7 days to die, and I don't know how to describe the game as other than shallow and empty

had fun with it for 3 days

First video released made it seem like a Left 4 Dead type game. Nice they are explaining things a bit better. Bethesda marketing has always been pretty bad. Also said they had id help out with some of the combat so that's good.

SNK is in a perpetual state of financial crisis, no matter how many rich uncles or regimes back them. They're like Brewster's Millions but with better pixel art.

I think Id were also said to have been pulled in to help with combat on Fallout 4, for reference. I believe their contribution was basically providing advice and feedback on making the guns satisfying to use.

The real power behind countless overlords

Anyone think we'll ever get a Fallout 5?

Fallout 4 was released in 2015. That was 7 years ago.

Fallout 1 was released in 1997.
Fallout 2 was released in 1998!

Holy cow, cancel my earlier question, Fallout 1 & 2 were released only a year apart? What sort of dark sorcery allowed such fast development?

aside from a general “games were smaller those days”, fallout 2 was essentially a bigger, better fallout 1. your comparison shouldn’t be fallout 3 and fallout 4, it’s fallout 3 and new vegas, which were released only two years apart

Probably after Elder Scrolls 6, which based on Bethesda's usual production pattern isn't even starting development until the Starfield DLC is out the door, in whatever form that takes.

Metal Slug 1, 2, and 3 are all the same game in the sense that they all control exactly the same, with the same objectives and feel, but are differentiated through level and enemy design.

Metal Slug X is literally Metal Slug 2 with some tweaks. Most people seem to prefer X to 2.

No game since 3 has proven as good, though I hold out hope for Metal Slug Tactics.

i know me and my friends managed 1, 2, and X on one credit back in the day but i don’t think we ever cracked 3. the fact that the final level has three bosses and felt like it was as long as the rest of the game combined just meant we always lost the battle of attrition

I thought the BGS games generally had pretty good trailers - they certainly made me hyped. "In our tongue, he is called, Dovahkiin! Dragonborn!" Fallout 4's one is pretty good too. I don't remember Oblivion's trailers but I do remember the tech demonstrations like pulling individual arrows out of a target etc

Yeah, the last level of 3's a real doozy. It's a great experience your first time through, when you have no idea what's coming up next, but on replays it definitely devolves into a slog.

Honestly, they could cut the entire second half of the spaceship segment. Even on my first playthrough, the novelty had definitely worn off by then.
