Ghost of Tsushima is the game where sword combat finally completely clicked with me and felt completely natural and intuitive, parrying in particular. Coming back to Fallen Order after that, the combat felt a bit rougher than I'd noticed before, including parry timing never feeling quite right. I know folks say to play it on the higher difficulty, but the difference is that GoT worked so well at low levels that I was able to work my way up to the highest setting pretty well, whereas I've been stuck on easy and normal in FO because it doesn't click in a way where I don't need that extra help.

GoT on lethal is fantastic. Every strike is a killing blow. It feels great and is incredibly well realised visually. Just look out for archers.

The parry timing is slightly off to me, and my friend postulated that the problem is that the center of the "you did a parry"-window seems to be when the attack would have landed if you did nothing, and most people target the point in time where the attack would connect with your lightsaber if you parried. For human enemies swinging stuff, these points are usually pretty close to eachother so on anything but highest it usually works out. Animals having weirder/slower attacks means you can miss the parry from hitting it too early. I started parrying slightly later than I felt I should, and that mostly worked for me, so maybe she's right about the aim of the window. We both played on jedi master. On grandmaster i can't consistently parry the regular stormtroopers.

Technically there's also a few mobile games that are supposed to be canon, but nobody cares about them and I think they've been discontinued anyways. The old EU has a tendency of regularly leaking into the new EU anyways. The Knights of the Old Republic games keep having details make it into current works, and the Old Republic MMO is still ongoing and getting updates, which might mean it's still canon as well. Dash Rendar is technically a canon character because of a couple boardgames. But the true rules of canon have always been that you can pay attention to or ignore whatever you want, because the biggest most "official" works will do the same thing.

I 100% expect Kyle Katarn to show up in the canon universe at some point. I feel like he was next in line in the rumor mill of who was going to rescue Grogu at the end of Mandolorian season one after Luke, Ashoka and Ezra.

For Kyle to return, there'd have to be someone out there making Star Wars stuff who cares enough about him to drag him forward into the new canon. I dun think that person exists, sadly.

The battle arena you unlock postgame is really cool. And the combat challenges are really hard EDIT: Not sure why people think Merrin won't be in the sequel. They were clearly setting her up as a love interest

If lunatic poo poo like the Mindharp of Sharu can get in, anything can. The reason they invalidated the canon is so they could nix specific poo poo that was embarrassing, and then slowly plug in more acceptable versions of anything people really liked. So yes Han and Leia got married, sure they had unspecified adventures, no Han did not drug and kidnap Leia because he was jealous of a weird Prince.
