Cool and good.

I can't promise it will live up to the hype, but I tried my best.
There sure is a lot going on in that between the dystopia and the fantasy escapism.

I'm admittedly a bit wary but happy to see how bonkers it looks.

I kind of think this trailer makes it look like a colossal misfire, but in a way that makes me very curious, as opposed to, say, the Babylon trailer, which made it look like a colossal misfire in a way that I knew to stay away from.

the opposite - the trailer is a bit too much but in a way that makes me absolutely want to see the film.

babylon trailer was too much in a way that ensured I would not see the film.

I don't know if the trailer resonates with me all that much because it feels like it was edited by an AI, but the movie looks good and I'll watch it because of the talent involved and because Aster has been solid thusfar.

Also, Goodbye Stranger is loving legend.

This is an interesting way to put it, and yeah very :same: on Babylon. That thing looked like a stinker from the first teaser.

I was worried when the trailer said it was from James L. Brooks, because, as good as he is, I don't think this movie should be coming from an old man. Or a man at all. But then the end of the trailer showed it's written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, which is a much better plan. (I never saw her movie The Edge of Seventeen, but I heard good things.)

Looks good. (I have next to no knowledge of the source material beyond what's just in the zeitgeist.) Looks like a good coming of age story, and with something for Rachel McAdams to do, too.

My thoughts on Mel Brooks: he's starting to look...how do I put this...a little Viserys Targaryan

And that’s totally fine, which was the point of my post. I liked Drunk History for years, until the gimmick kind of wore thin for me.

It’s just…I don’t know what I was expecting, but it was a little more Mel Brooks, and less College Humor. But that was probably naive, as Brooks hasn’t been Brooks for decades.

I just definitely wasn’t expecting the eventual “Part II” to be a carbon copy of Drunk History.
