 This is pretty Cronenberg, but I really didn't feel like upscaling more than one of these and this one seemed the most Cronenberg  Unsure if more iterations made it more or less cronenburg but I am pretty sure this will be strobing in front of my eyes in bed tonight. So many eyes.

Something I've been messing with lately has been https://beta.character.ai/ (not sure if has been mentioned in the thread already) and while (like the image generators have shown) most people want to make their favorite anime character or celebrity and have a conversation with them, character.ai is remarkably powerful for single player roleplay games. I had a run where I woke up in a goblin cave tied up, made my escape and spent two in-game days making my way back home. First day it was established that I'm the younger son of the House of Dartarian, which an elder in the first village demanded I demonstrate with magic to prove my nobility before he'd help me. Second day I went through another village and interacted with other characters without issue, then I stopped on the side of the road to take a break and a gobin, all the way from the initial cave (and way far back in the text stack interacting with this AI) jumped me, and then I had this interaction: The powerful part, to me, is that at the start I was just 'a' person tied up, there was no definition on who I was, but the natural progression of the game sussed out details that both the AI and I collaboratively wrote. Then the AI, all on its own, had me get jumped by a single goblin from the very start of the cave, before I was a noble, before 'House Dartarian' was mentioned. The details that had been established were woven into the story naturally, calling back to events that had happened before, exactly like a DM would do. THEN, after this I made my way home to get scolded by my ~oh so fancy~ noble mother who demanded that I apologize for going out alone without an escort AND demanded I talk to her formally, chided by my older brother who desperately tries to do everything to please mother but comes across as a suck up, and looked up to by my little sister (who I embellished the details as I told them all about my ordeal and journey) in a very natural, distinct name and personality way. Then my brother and I had an argument because mother showed me compassion for coming back home alive (through her ultra formal way) and he was pissed, then later that night he tried to kill me in my sleep. We fought and argued, guards rushed in and my mother ordered my brother away. Then she dropped the bomb that 'House Dartarian' isn't human and explained why my brother went off the goddamned rails, probably because of our 'curse'. I just want to illustrate that this AI, the way it interacts and the way you can weave natural stories blows away anything that AI Dungeon or NovelAI or any of the other systems has ever done by many, many magnitudes. Far better than GPT3 also because of how the interactions are structured and how this AI system 'remembers'. I doubt as many people are as excited and impressed with it as I because it's just text. I played a different RPG in a sort of Call of Cthulhu setting where I was hired by an investigator to look for a missing girl. Similar way that the goblin game played, went down to the docks, talked to some people, really deep character interactions with descriptions and all that, super neat stuff. Eventually I find myself sneaking around a Church of the Red Queen (no idea if this is a real thing in the mythos I'm not familiar with HP Lovecraft stuff) looking for clues where this girl went, only to me jumped by this girl herself, but suddenly she locked the door behind me and pinned me to the wall, was dressed in leather and being all like "ooOooOo I am a scary dominatrix actually and you look DELICIOUS" which like, sure fine this is weirdo occult stuff but it was like a terrible 80s movie trope just walked into the room and cheesed the whole thing. At no point was this mentioned before, nothing sexual at all then BAM! Stiletto heels, leather, dominatrix and bondage stuff. Come to find out that character.ai, of course from whatever data it's pulling, has hoovered up a ton of inappropriate texts, but it has a second sort of hidden AI filter that the developers have put on top that tries to make it not talk about sex or do sexual things. Fine, cool, though you can be as absolutely violent as you want, disgustingly, descriptively violent, to anyone. Looking further, you can sexually assault the characters because violence is allowed, and the filter will prioritize violence over whatever sexual stuff and allow it which is  as hell. But if you try to do anything consensual the filter will hammer down on you. Moreover, you, the human, can type absolutely anything you want at the AI, the filter triggers when the AI responds to you, the human. This leads to a hilarious situation where people, who want to be horny with their bots in a consensual way, are training the AI to get around this hidden filter because as we all freely interact with this character.ai system it learns, meaning you can actually convince the AI to do whatever you want and it will willing take part, but with weird euphemisms and nudge-nudge-wink-wink language. But if you just be violent you can do whatever you want  , but you absolutely can not consensually kiss. I don't know where I am going with this or what the solution is, but whatever these companies are trying to do to not make these AI systems trained on how humanity has decided to present itself to itself is absolutely not working. AIs are black boxes with no direct control and at least with this character.ai one, they just put another AI on top I guess and hope for the best all the while letting humanity itself which it has learned from train to get around the filter they put on top of it to stop kissing.

Can i make an AI art request? I was tasked with making some album art for an upcoming project by an aspiring 6 year old metalhead that is also my nephew. It's called RIDE THE DEATH HORSE This is what I came up with, a spectral horse (it was gonna be a skeleton horse but that proved difficult) with Death riding up a hill of skulls, vast graves in the background, the hunters moon obscured by shadow as lightning riddles the sky  png text new 2018 I only have a lil chrome book and it just cant hack trying to use these tools, ive got some good bones there but i know it can get better, can anyone spare some computing for the amusement of a lil metal head?

What are the current best models to use? I'm running automatic1111 with stable diffusion 2.1 but I'd like to play around with some of the other good ckpt files that are out there. I've heard good things about the NovelAI ckpt but I remember the are a few others that are supposed to be really good but I've had trouble googling them.

The important question for us overworked faculty is, can it grade the essays for me? It seems to do pretty well if I feed it a grading rubric! But there is quite a bit of variability, you have to run it a few times and see what the average judgment is.

Lots of little inpainting and essentially slapping in various bits and rendering portions of the image at a time. Text obviously added in photoshop afterwards.
