niethan posted:mate if it takes seven minutes youre severely loving up. preboil the water, chuck it on a gas stove and you got your coffee in a cup before two minutes are over. i found the discrepancy: i'm losing heat. my moka pot is too small for the stove top plate so i use a cheap tin baking pan to hold it up. if i don't preheat the baking pan, it's six minutes. if i do preheat the baking pan, the bubbling starts at two minutes. tastes the same tho. thanks for the tip.
