if i were that guy i would take the year off then come back to any of several extremely lucrative college offers. and if there weren't any that i liked i would become the offensive coordinator for a bad nfl team in order to take some more money, due to having been a head coach, and then i would retire after doing a bad job and parting ways through firing or having my contract end. thank you all so much. it's a wonderful life

Michael Lombardi was on Ross Tucker's podcast a few days ago and they were talking about fired coaches, and according to Lombardi the coach can't just gently caress off to Thailand and collect their guaranteed money. Even though the money is "guaranteed" he said that it's dependent upon the coach trying to get a new job. Of course, then there's offset language, so the original team doesn't have to actually pay all of that. He even said that when he got let go by one team (maybe as a GM or executive or something) and got a job offer from Al Davis, the owner who fired him somehow forced him not to take it because the salary from Davis was so low that the old boss would have to still be paying too much. So do the Seahawks go QB early next year? If I were a Seattle fan I'd be fine with Geno as the QB of the immediate future (like 2-3 years) but they look like they need a ton of bodies on defense and I don't think they're a QB away.

Purdy made some pretty bad throws that he got lucky on and he looked like poo poo in the 2nd quarter when Seattle moved him off his spot. I think he’s a huge beneficiary of scheme and guys who can rack up insane YAC numbers. He lacks Lance’s arm talent and athleticism. His main strength is getting the ball out quickly and accurately in the short and intermediate game. Not sure how far that can take him or the team if they can’t keep surrounding him with guys like Deebo and McCaffery that can turn those into home runs.
