I saw a tweet after pick four that said trev4 lawrints. I had a chuckle to myself and assumed the game was over. I went to karaoke instead and my mind was loving blown when I saw the final score.

I went to bed when it was 17-0 and woke up to see it was 30-28 with the Jaguars moving into FG range on that last big run. Crazy! In the modern NFL leads just don't hold. That's part of why I'm never secure when my own team leads. Teams just can score too quickly in today's NFL. Looking at some of these Jaguars drives it's like 2 mins, 2 mins, 3 mins for TDs. That's 21 points in like half a quarter's worth of possession. So even when it's multiple scores down you can't expect these leads to hold until maybe the second half of the 4th quarter when teams start actually running out of time and can't let you possess the ball at all. We've had some of the craziest comebacks this year with the Dolphins against the Ravens, the Vikings against the Colts, and now the Jaguars over the Chargers in the playoffs. With these explosive and quick scoring offense types all over the place even if you have these big leads you can't just assume they'll hold.

"Social media QB" is a dumb take. Still, it's a pretty disappointing season for Herbert. I'm sure he'll do better when he's fully healthy and has better coaching and better receivers, but you HAVE to find a way to score a touchdown in a half in a playoff game.

the absolute worst part of the NFL is QB importance being so emphasized and exaggerated now that people can even credibly try to sell the argument that Herbert was anywhere near the top of the list of what went wrong last night the line for franchise QB starts somewhere below being able to shield a team from every consequence of failing to execute with coaching, defense, and special teams imagine Tom Brady trying to build up the impossibly clutch reputation that's poisoned people's expectations, if he had a brain genius like Staley over on the sidelines

The jags got within two points with 5.5 minutes left. Time wasn’t really a factor. You can’t just ride out 20 point a lead for an entire half of football in the modern NFL. You have to try to keep scoring and Chargers are a bottom 3 rushing team this year. They don’t score points or sustain drives running the ball.
