They live in Japan (see everything to do with how slow it has been to get better netcode for fighting games).

Like not in a bad way, but their networking team is likely Japanese employees whose primary environment is the Japanese internet. We know this to be the case because we've seen stuff like Titan and such be considered fine until someone from the team tried Titan in America (Yoshi-P himself in fact, if I recall).

Tech companies are famously terrible at understanding that their customers aren't in the same environment they are. See also: cloud gaming.

Outside of gaming, it was actually one of the big reasons Windows 8 sucked. Its developers were big on tablet PCs, and forgot the part where nobody outside of them actually cared.

Looking at some of the comments, the reason Asahi’s has an Oreo is because a lot of Japanese players call him that because of one of his line readings where he sounds like he’s saying that.

You could make a whole flight of drinks from the Hildi quest line, and there'd be no wrong answers. Coffee old fashioned, cotton candy cosmo that somebody set on fire, last word, yellow chartreuse and gin, kyoto bloom, etc.

As fragile as the portrait system is, I'm willing to deal with it for my main (RDM) and other jobs at 90 I use regularly, but if I'm on something I'm leveling or rarely touch you're getting my mugshot. I don't care if it costs me comms because, again, RDM main. Before portraits they were going to go to the healer I picked up off the floor six times or the single pulling tank who can't stop spinning the bosses, it's honestly less annoying if someone else gets it because they put more effort into their portrait than just because they had green or blue next to their name on the party list.

The bronze/silver rewards aren't worth much to me, so I am minmaxing my chances for a triple every week, but the luck is still unreasonable.

Jesus. I've gotten all those mounts by doing it through unreal. Have yet to get a gold cert

Martman
Nov 20, 2006

My main issue is I don't generate enough second chance points consistently enough to keep up, so I always burn out on WT after a couple weeks. I've pretty much given up completely on ever getting 3 lines.

As far as making money with the gold certs, aside from the mounts the main other strategy is buying new Ornate armor pieces as soon as they become available for a new tier of combat gear. Aside from just allowing you not fail overmelds, they also let you meld all rank X materia so there's always the possibility of a hardcore raider dropping wild amounts of gil for a miniscule advantage

First week of new content I somehow got 6? I don't understand, I was running those all the time.

Thundarr
Dec 24, 2002

Yeah the first week of two of a new content patch is by far the best time to farm second chance points. Even numbered patches moreso, since new alliance raids don't count but new normal raids do.

For the most part a three line is unlikely enough that it isn't worth re rolling forever to try to get one, unless you really like leveling or mentor roulette. If you can roll into one line that's good enough to get you some free capped tomestones so you don't need to farm as much up that week. If a three line is gonna happen, it'll happen.
